Built in 2004 this quiet cottage is located on a private penninsula in Bete Grise.Our private cottage is the perfect respite after enjoying all the area has to offer. We have a private dock which offers direct water access to all types of boating and fishing in Lake Superior and Lac La Belle. Beach access to the crystal blue waters and singing sands of Lake Superior is at the end of the driveway. The Midwest's premier ski hill, Mt Bohemia, is just 3 miles down the road as are the U.P's famed snowmobile trails, and mountain biking IMBA’s Copper Harbor “Silver Level Ride Center” ranks among the top trail systems in the world! Our open floor plan on the first floor is a wonderful place to gather after a day of adventure in the the Keweenaw whether it be for a meal or fireside chat around the custom fireplace.Our cottage has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 10. The master suite is located on the main floor with an attached bathroom. It has a queen bed and queen size sleeper sofa. The 2 other bedrooms are located on the second floor, 1 with 2 queen beds and the other with 1 queen bed and a shared bathroom.There is an alarm system on the cabin that will be disarmed before your arrival. We do however have exterior cameras that are on the porch only. These are for your protection and ours. Enjoy the tranquility of this property with its natural landscape, frequent wildlife and fantastic views through the floor to ceiling windows in the vaulted Living Room, from the Kitchen/Dining Area, wrap around deck or off the dock. Main floor has an open concept floorplan, complete with Living Room (futon), Kitchen/Dining Area, Bedroom (full) and full Bath. Master suite (queen) is located in the open Loft with its own full Bath. Lower level includes a Family Room/TV area, additional sleeping options (full) and walk out to ground level lakeside. All linens (towels & sheets) are provided. Kitchen has gas cooktop, oven, microwave and refrigerator, plus some basics. Lake Bailey is a shallow 205 acre lake with an island. Lake is suitable for fishing, kayaking or canoeing. Public boat access at the north end of the lake. Perch and Northern Pike can be found in Lake Bailey.In the evening, sit around the bonfire, roast some marshmallows and listen to the sounds of nature. Spacious one level house. Overlooking Lake Superior in all of her wild splendor. Rustic Luxe. Open concept. Lots of elbow room.Modern stainless kitchen. New dining table, wine fridge, dishes and comfortable eating, games, and hang out space. Smart tv in the living area with couch, chairs ottoman and comfort for apres ski or for after sledding, touring swimming, etc. the massive deck is 10 feet wider than the house. A grill with all the tools needed for a yummy cookout. Plus outdoor table, chairs, and umbrella. Each house has a fire pit. We provide wood, kindling, roasting sticks, and the fixings for s’mores.As of 2023, four houses have completed their renovations. The last two are smaller houses. They are patiently waiting for their turn. A collection of bicycles are on a rack by the main driveway. By the docks we have a few kayaks, an inflatable dinghy, and water toys. Swimming, diving, and/or wading in the water are encouraged. We provide beach towels. Clean bathrooms are provided by the docks as well. Corn hole games are by the docks, or are stored in the huge porch or each house. Since we are by the shore, we are 12 miles from restaurants and grocery stores. So we provide food items that can be handy, especially if you are a late arrival. Cans of soup, spaghetti stuff, frozen pizzas, and things like that are stocked. Help yourself. For that first morning we give you coffee, cereal, eggs and frozen waffles. We like to stock locally made jams and other products that come from our area. We tried to think of everything you might need. However we are happy to take suggestions or we can take care of your wishes as needed. Rentals are Saturday to Saturday (7 days) from June 1st - August 31st.Rentals booked from September 1st - May 31st are a 3 day minimum. Full payment is expected with reservation.
