Historic Bath, Maine is less than 10 minutes away with history, architecture, and a lovely downtown area for shopping and a sweet park by the Kennebec River that hosts a farmers market. Reid State Park and Popham beach are also nearby. Brunswick is home to Bowdoin College, historical museums, many wonderful restaurants, music, arts, and shopping, all about five minutes away.
