The Bull Inn

We booked The Bull Inn for 1 night for a friend’s wedding nearby and it was a pleasant surprise. We had a double room and a single occupancy room next door for a friend. The owner is very welcoming and explained that Taxis can be difficult in this area but arranged us a lift to and from the venue. One of us decided to be the designated driver but appreciated the offer of a lift. The room is comfortable and allows dogs! The area is beautiful and quiet, we slept very well. The full English was very good too and the check out time is generous. If we’re in the area again, I wouldn’t hesitate to book The Bull Inn again - wish we were staying for the pub quiz! Thank you!

Absolutely amazing gem of a find. Fabulous hosts whose background in the luxury hotel industry really shows. They cooked us plant based meals off menu that were so tasty that we didnt have to eat anywhere else. The pub is really friendly and if you go on a sunday there is a really friendly pub quiz. Shower was really powerful and room was very clean. Leo said that we would be treated like family whilst there and we really were. Thank you.

Such a gorgeous little pub. Value for money accommodation. Clean, basic, quiet and relaxing. We stayed for one night and really enjoyed it. It is the owners/managers that are so welcoming you feel instantly at home that complete the experience. I absolutely loved that they have their fire place going, not many do! Would stay here again.

Under new management, and literally Leo and Dana were THE best hosts of anywhere we have ever stayed.Were their for our son's wedding, and needed a pet friendly hotel.One of our party stayed to dog sit, and Leo organised food and a room upgrade at last minute.Nothing was too much trouble .Room clean and comfy.Perfect, breakfast was beautiful- and my daughter said her pie and chips was second to none.Leo and Dana have set the bar high in this hidden gem..thank you .Will be our go to if ever back in the area.Love and thanks.

Yet another great night at the Bull. The usual high standard of food was delivered once again and we even had a taster of the chowder dish (which was excellent!). Add to that, the usual friendly and personal style of service and we now have a great place to go at any time, for any occasion.

We are a family of three who stayed recently at the Bull Inn, Rippingale. Leo and Daena did everything they could to make us feel welcome. We stayed in the triple room which was very clean and spacious and slept well in the comfy beds. We were visiting the area for a sad family occasion and Daena and Leo proved themselves to be both sensitive to our situation and very flexible when unexpected things cropped up. With a food breakfast included, this was also good value for money. They took over the Bull earlier this year and clearly have plans to develop the place even more. I'm sure in their good hands, it will go from strength to strength.

Visited for dinner yesterday and had a wonderful experience. Warm welcome by the host and delicious food. My husband and I had the beef bourguignon, our friends had the Portuguese Hake and Haddock Gratin. Everything was freshly cooked and hot. The beef was very tender and so tasty and our friends really enjoyed their fish dishes. All meals came with locally sourced vegetables. Quite full but eager to try a dessert so we shared a lemon meringue pie and our friends shared a sticky toffee pudding. Both homemade and there was a choice of cream, ice cream and custard. We have visited the Bull previously but the service and food had been very poor. The new “management “ has vastly improved both and we will certainly visit again!

My wife and I were eager to sample the new "Fish Friday" menu and we were not disappointed. The fish menu was quite extensive and the normal menu was available as well. My wife ordered a Portuguese Hake dish which was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. I chose a dish with Sea Bass and crushed new potatoes. The fish was perfectly cooked and the whole dish was delicious. We both had different starter dishes which were also very nice and accompanied the meal with a good bottle of Gavi Italian white wine.

Went and tried the new menu this evening and also the specials board. Could not fault either starter or mains we had soup of the day and a prawn cocktail with curry of the day and Hake of the specials board plus one apple crumble and custard. Service was good and the restaurant was busy . Will be back when we can thank you.
