Hotel in zona Kinderspielplatz, Bottrop

Oltre al stile che è venuto negli anni (sottoterra di tetto, bagno vecchio, tende più orribili), i letti sono pazzesco e sono dotati dei peggiori cuscini di testa che ho mai dovuto vedere in un hotel (sconfigiano, troppo spesso). Insopportabile incollato nella stanza, nonostante i ventilatori. Le finestre non possono essere lasciate aperte a causa del rumore stradale - che non importa quasi, perché sono così male isolate che si è finalmente inchiodata, dalla chiamata della gente o delle gru. Per poi essere tenuto al di sopra della serratura nella camera adiacente (tutte le camere normali sembrano avere porte di connessione; chi ha mai inventato la merda?!?) ... Unico plus: è pulito. Tuttavia: non più!!

During my visit to Gladbeck, Germany in December 2022 for the K-show, our large group had the convenience of traveling with an Indian chef who made our stay at Van der Valk Hotel more comfortable. As we approached the hotel, its serene atmosphere immediately engulfed us, surrounded by nature in every aspect. The rooms were calm and incredibly cozy, allowing us to relax and unwind. Since we had our own chef, we never faced any issues with food. We had the luxury of excellent choices and delicious meals throughout our stay. However, there are a few areas where the hotel could improve. Firstly, it was embarrassing that the bathroom in our room didn't have a door. This made it uncomfortable to share the room with colleagues. Additionally, the service desk was frequently unattended, and there was a lack of room service. Even small requests that were communicated to the staff were not fulfilled. Despite these drawbacks, the staff at the counter remained positive and assured us that our needs would be met. However, it seemed to be more talk than action. On a positive note, the rooms and bedding were great, and the heating system worked perfectly. The experience of walking through the hotel's corridors and encountering stairs along the way added a unique touch, possibly due to the hotel's older style and architecture. Germans are strong and wouldn't mind this. but for us poor Indians with a pot belly its a tough one :) Overall, my stay at Van der Valk Hotel in Gladbeck was above average, thanks to the calm and cozy rooms. However, there is room for improvement, particularly in terms of staff responsiveness and fulfilling guest requests. Nonetheless, the serene ambiance of the hotel and its convenient location made it a decent choice for our visit.

Trattamento inqualificabile, esperienza mai vissuta (per fortuna), in tanti anni di viaggi all'estero. Soggiorno di 2 notti per affari, prenotazione fatta (consapevolmente) solo con pernotto. Dopo la prima notte, faccio colazione, dichiarando il numero della camera. Mi viene fatto notare che la colazione non era inclusa. Rispondo ”bene, la paghero' (ovviamente!). Risultato, alla sera rientro per la seconda notte, e non posso accedere alla camera, perché il codice di 6 cifre in mio possesso sembrava non funzionare più. Alla reception, mi dicono: si, il codice è stato cambiato, perché la colazione non è stata saldata. A questo punto, mantengo il mio fair play, ma dentro di me penso: ma come sono messi questi qua? Gli extra non si pagano piu' al check out? Occorre pagare gli extra di volta in volta? Hanno paura che io scappi senza pagare (nonostante abbiano camera già pagata, dati della carta di credito, dati aziendali...). Roba da pazzi! Avrei voluto andarmene via dall'albergo in quel preciso istante. Un trattamento vergognoso.

Ich bin eine gebürtige Essenerin und kenne deshalb das Hotel schon ewig. Die Lage ist zentral, gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof und mitten in der Stadt. Die Zimmer sind je nach Kategorie geräumig. Ich finde es toll, das man die Fenster öffnen kann. Auch die Betten sind bequem. Frühstück gegen Aufpreis, dort gibt es allerdings Verbesserungspotential. Trotzdem 100% Empfehlung

Although Hotel is not near the Railway station it is very handy for the Turbinenhalle 2 if you are here to see a band. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and their english was perfect. Rooms were very clean and a very good size. Also the breakfast was excellent. All in all, I had a very good stay here and would definitely stay again. Thank you

Prima Standort, um Essen zu erkunden - Folkwang-Museum, Ausgehmeile Rü und die Innenstadt in Laufweite, und andere Destinationen gut mit den Öffis zu erreichen. Praktisch: Parkplätze für 14 Euro/Tag direkt am Haus. Zimmer okay, vielleicht ein bisschen bemüht hip, aber das kann ja altersbedingte Geschmackssache sein. Extrapunkte für das supernette, superfixe, super engagierte Team am Empfang!

Sono venuto in questo hotel per innumerevoli volte. Sono molto felice con gli amici. Le strutture di intrattenimento sono molto riccate sottostanti. La reception è molto entusiasta e amichevole. Non ho mai avuto una cattiva esperienza in questo hotel.
