Just got back from this hotel . Was worried about the poor reviews but was no need to have been . Check in was straight forward , rooms basic but clean and comfortable enough. Beds were ok definitely no matress springs in the back . Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Coffee maker and kettle, clean towels every day. Staff not over friendly but certainly not rude. Cleaning staff constantly mopping floors and outside area. Breakfast good with extensive choice. Outdoor SPA area with hot tubs , sauna , steam room and ice cold pool was nice after a day on the slopes. This hotel is all round ok I would definitely use it again . If you are due to visit the us no need to be worried it's ok.

The location and breakfast were the only good things. I have stayed in a lot of places but never have I encountered such a hostile and aggressive reception. We didn’t know the re was a parking fee at the hotel and receptionist shouted at us to ‘Go stay somewhere else’ Then he said we had ‘Cheap rooms’ and other guests we’re looking at us. Totally humiliating. The room was very small and needless to say we left after 2 days even though we knew we wouldn’t get a refund. We did complain but no apology was given and we still paid for parking. Never ever again.

Hotel Moura is OK. The title of this review says it all. We were a group of 12 men staying in the triple rooms. Initially we were concerned reading a lot of the negative reviews but have found that in general this is not the case. The hotel has good amenities, the rooms are cleaned daily and the lobby area is cosy for a drink at the bar before heading out into the town. The staff are not necessarily rude but more speak to the point. All in all, I wouldn’t be too hesitant staying here if you are just using it as a base for a holiday.

We’ve just arrived home following a very pleasant four-night stay at Hotel Moura. We booked last minute and prepaid in full on a non-refundable rate, so upon seeing previous reviews afterwards I was very concerned - there was absolutely no need to be. For context, I have very high standards for hotels, especially around cleanliness (but I’m equally very aware that standards can vary dramatically across countries). This hotel is clean, well-presented and has everything you need for a short break. The breakfast is extensive, and yes some of the options may seem odd - but you’re in another country, embrace it! The same goes for the staff. So many reviews state rude and unhelpful staff - in my experience, this feels very unfair. Are they more gruff and direct than we’re used to elsewhere? Yes, but having travelled widely in Eastern Europe, I can safely say this is simply a cultural difference. We learnt how to say good morning and thank you in Bulgarian, and after a couple of days and plenty of smiling, the staff reciprocated with a more sunny demeanour. From what I saw, they work extremely hard, clearing snow to make sure the paths are safe, cleaning the public areas and regularly replenishing food at the buffet. The beds were comfortable enough, and the cleaners did a great job every day. At no point did we feel our belongings weren’t safe, even while skiing all day every day. The hotel is well situated for reaching the ski slopes, and only a five-minute walk from the centre of town. There are three excellent restaurants right outside, too. The spa is lovely, and a very traditional experience - something we particularly value when visiting other countries. I can’t speak for the rooms on the higher floors, as we stayed in what I believe are the recently renovated deluxe rooms on floor 1. They are excellent value and stylishly decorated. My very minor complaints would be: the still water in the room wasn’t replenished beyond our arrival day, and the flat double sheet across the twin beds wasn’t ideal. Overall, this hotel is a great choice for a short break to ski or explore the local area of Borovets. Book a deluxe room, don’t go expecting an American-style reception, and embrace the cultural quirks.

Hotel is close to Gondola lift, wifi is very slow almost not working in every room,it works only in lobby. Staff working at the reception are very cold and without any interest to guests,only guy at the lobby bar is smiling.Beds are all twin in all rooms and they are uncomfortable,they put them together if there is a couple but when you turn around they separate and creak.We had a plug in and the socket just behind our pillow.There is no shelf in the bathroom,so the toiletries has to stand on the floor and the shower curtain is short and the whole bathroom gets splashed.Housekeeping ladies are nice,they make beds every day and change towels.Hotel is warm and breakfast is good.

I recommend avoiding this hotel. Awful attitude, rude personnel/manager, disrespectful and not client oriented. Troubles started when we booked this hotel in Sept 2024 through travel agency, for the holidays between 27.12.2024-02.01.2025 for a total of 4 families). Due to overbooking we were announced, 2 weeks before our holiday and after we fully paid the package, that due to some misunderstanding/overbooking at the hotel, out of the group, our family didn’t have the reservation valid anymore and we had to accept to be accommodated with another hotel, apart from the group. Nevertheless, we still had with Moura the reservation for New Years Eve festive dinner. On the 31.12.2024, in the morning I went to Moura Hotel to check if everything is ok with our dinner reservation – the personnel at the reception checked their system and confirmed the dinner reservation. Despite this, on 31.12.2024, in the evening when we arrived at Moura for the festive dinner, the manager who was coordinating the event, effectively took us out of the restaurant, yelling at us and treating very disrespectful saying that we have no reservation, because they did not receive the money for our dinner reservation and we are not his problem as we are not guests of his hotel (repeating this for several times on a very high tone, very offensive and treating treated with disrespect and verbal aggression). After one hour of waiting in the reception, as the representative of the travel agency kept saying and reconfirming to me that everything is paid and they should accept us for dinner, the Hotel representative, still yelling and with angry attitude agreed to our reservation (seemed that the intermediary Bulgarian agency made a mess and did not paid in time to Moura), but as they still had not any places setup for us remaining to see where they would make some room for us in the restaurant, we chose to leave and find another place to spend the New Year’s Eve. Bottom line, the problem is the personnel attitude and rudeness, aggressive approach (verbally), and the fact that they did not tell us about the problem in the first hand, in the morning on the 31.12.2024, when we checked with them and their willingness to solve the problem was debatable, without any client-oriented attitude (we felt like we were beggars, despite the fact we were only asking for a service we had paid for).

Nice hotel and good location but trip totally ruined after we was robbed alive by the cleaners. Once they think theyve got away with one thing they will keep taking. I was proved right when the gps of one of the items stolen showed up in a town 5 miles down the road.

The quality of this hotel and it's staff is very poor. We booked three rooms, all of which looked nothing like as advertised. The mattresses were old and extremely uncomfortable. The fixtures and fittings were old, broken, and in some cases like the shower we are actually dangerous. Complaining to the staff was pointless, they are just not interested and come across as rude and hostile. As for the service, the bar in the hotel is not manned so not easy even to order a coffee or a beer. After waiting for 15 minutes to be served I asked a staff member if I could get served, they smirked and said, "Can't you wait a minute. The room.service is awful. They don't wash the coffee cups, replace the coffee, shower gel etc. Water was provided on check in but not afterwards. All in all, one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in.

It's a total scam! Totally non professionals! They never refund cancelled reservations and they don't even communicate. They are the best in charging you the first day of booking but even 15 days after the cancelation still to return the money. Avoid them!!!
