How special to spend our last night in Scotland in a castle, complete with dinner in the dungeon. Our room was small but extremely comfortable with views of the surrounding countryside. The hotel staff went out of their way to take care of us. I will definitely return!

This is a fun castle experience with an incredible dining venue. Dinner in the Dungeon was delicious and so much fun. The staff seemed overwhelmed and not super friendly but the experience is one to remember. Book in the main building for the castle rooms. The lodge rooms are comfortable with updated bathrooms but feel more tucked in the woods.

We chose to stay at this amazing castle due to some of the rooms having the stones walls. Loved that you could have a meal in the dungeon. So much history to this castle. Great place to stay. The grounds are beautiful and our room was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was great to walk around and get some great photos whilst we stayed there.

Staying at Dalhousie Castle is like stepping into history. It was worth the climb to our 4 poster bedroom, Sir Robert the Bruce. We've stayed in many rooms in many countries but this was like no other. The 5 course meal was a flavour explosion served in the Dungeon restaurant. Such a fabulous experience. The Castle is set in such beautiful grounds so take the opportunity to have wander.

We were very disappointed in the Dalhousie Castle. For starters when we checked in, Our room was probably 200 yards away from the check in location and they did not offer any kind of shuttle service to get our baggage down to our room. Then when we got to our room, unfortunately, we found it kind of dirty. The carpet had stains all over it. Then the second day we booked a massage and the gal that worked on me was totally sick. You could hear her blowing her nose and coughing up phlegm as she gave me a massage. Last, we ate at the dungeon restaurant, it was very expensive with small portions, and my steak was cold by the time they served it to me. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The castle is beautiful. The surrounding area is beautiful. Our room was good. The bed very comfortable. The dinner was exquisite. Served by a very capable young lady called Grace. The surrounds were very interesting in a dungeon. ( I might add that it was disappointing that some people did not know how to dress properly for dinner in such surrounds). Breakfast was a shambles!! I'm still waiting for mustard for my haggis!! The young woman who was serving deliberately ignored me after I asked.

What a lovely experience with the Dalhousie staff and property. Highly recommended. Loved going in for a drink and ordering dinner there, then being led down to "the dungeon" to our table, for an utterly delicious meal. JUST NOTE, there is no elevator (a good thing), but if you have any people in your party with age/knee issues, maybe ask for a lower-level room.

They overbooked tables for dinner and left us hungry out in the middle of nowhere. We paid for fine dining in the Dungeon but finally got served close to 10 pm in their bistro. Breakfast opening also 30 mins late and we missed it due to airport departure. Of course I paid for that, too. They left us hangry!

This is still a great location with a beautiful facade, but that's all I can say about it. The staff has become disinterested and the place needs serious updating internally. I assume they can't maintain it because if they did anything inside, they'd have to make it Accessible, which it isn't. Not that I mind, but you can't go anywhere without a bunch of stairs. I only mention it because I assume that's why they are no longer maintaining the property - which shows in the building and it shows in the staff's attitudes. No one wants to work there. I hadn't been back since 2007 and I wish I didn't this time. It was a disappointing end to our trip, but we had a great time everywhere else in Scotland!
