Gocta Andes Lodge

Location is perfect for a few days to see the falls, bird watch, & if feeling adventurous to go off trail. After a day of hiking the pool is perfect for a cold water plunge. It made a difference the next day. All our meals where great & the bar was a plus

An excellent experience of disconnection in a very warm atmosphere, a city with a lot of potential, with very friendly and attentive people, delicious food and drinks and a very complete tourist program to enjoy the places that the region offers. Perfect for friends, families and couples

The suites are just "WOW" - beautiful rooms, excellent bedding, bathroom, balcony, and superb views of the mountains and the Gocta waterfall. The breakfast offers fresh fruits and nicely cooked choices including eggs to order. The hotel also has a lunch and dinner restaurant with food from different regions of Peru. The restaurant attendant (Jose) was just great! We purchased 2 excursions: Gocta Falls, and Kuelap. Make sure you're in a reasonable physical shape to do the 2-hour hike to the Gocta Falls. If not, you should use a horse, which is readily available for 40 soles (about $10). Skip the Kuelap excursion! Kuelap was closed, but nobody told us that we couldn't get inside. That was a waste of money and time.

My husband and I along with our tour guide and driver didn't 3 nights here. What a beautiful lodge! We upgraded our room which looked out to the falls, mountains and woods. Stunning! Large balcony with comfortable lounge chairs, spacious room with a large and very comfortable bed, and nice washroom with large walk-in shower. Good and fruit beverages were good and restaurant seating area gorgeous.. Enjoyed alpacas on the grounds. Well recommended!

Absolutely amazing views. All the staff was friendly and helpful. We did several wonderful tours and the food was delicious. The village was charming and friendly. We saw the Colibri Espatula and the Gallito de La Rocha nearby. We loved staying here.

Wonderful hotel and the service is exceptional. All the rooms have a view of the Gocta Waterfall. With a beautiful pool to use after your hike to the waterfall. If you are interested in observing the the spatula tallied hummingbirds, ask the front desk for Elmer.

The Hotel is surrounded by stunning views from every room, which are big and comfortable, the employees are very attentive and respectful, we had the opportunity to visit the gotca waterfalls, the Carajia's sarcophagus, the ruins of Kuelap and the refugio of the hummingbird espatula, the most beautiful bird on earth This is the perfect place if you are looking to be in contact with nature . Highly recommend it.

Gocta Andes Lodge is an excellent place to stay when visiting Chachapoyas. With it's beautiful view of the falls makes it very relaxing. Lots of activities to do. Great food and service. Definitely worth the trek from the airport.

The area of Gocta is extremely beautiful, beautiful mountains, very green, and you have stunning views on the waterfall, be it from your room, be it from the pool or the restaurant. You can do several hiking tours to explore the nature, of course one of it the hike to the falls, a nice hike, but also some other trails. So from a surrounding perspective definitely top. The hotel is a three star property, the rooms simple but are large and nicely decorated. The bathroom is also large, but the shower has only limited pressure and limited hot water. It gets very cold at night and there is no heating system. From the balcony you have great views on the waterfall. Staff is a bit mixed, front desk and manager are a bit cool, but some waiters are very friendly. Service corresponds to three star level. The food in the restaurant is simple but good, good breakfast and also lunch and dinner are relatively good, some good Lomo Saltado, Quinoa Salad etc. Conclusion: nice simple hotel in a beautiful setting. However next time I would try the hotel Gocta Natura, a much smaller and more luxurious hotel (which unfortunately I did not know before). The area is definitely worth to visit.
