Balan Village Motel

My wife & I and our good friends stayed at the Balan Village Motel on 15/10/2023. We checked in at 4:30pm. Our room had a very strong bleach smell which almost took my breath & made us cough excessively. Bathroom floor was raised higher than rest of unit and I tripped walking into the bathroom. Lucky, I had good gripping shoes as I could of slipped and fallen. The glass door to glass shower enclosure was hard to open and sticks. Our friends room was completely unclean, hadn’t been vacuum, the bed was a mess and the sheets had not been changed with new sheets. Health breach. They went back to the reception and owner said he made a mistake with the room number. That was a lie. The new room the bed was normal sized double and they paid for a larger bed. The original room allocated had the larger bed. Their new room had a very strong & disgusting sewerage stench coming from the bathroom & was going through and stinking up the whole unit. My friends had to put a mat over the drain in the bathroom, close the bathroom door, put a towel under the bathroom door to stop the smell, spray the room with deodorant and perfume. The carpet was putrid and filthy, had a lot of filthy stains on it, had not been vacuumed, and not real sure how clean the rest of the place really was. There was a dirty mark on the top cover of the bed. Didn’t think of it at the time but now just wondering if the sheets in either of the units were actually changed or did they just make-up the beds. Maybe should of brought the blue light with to check the sheets. Both units only had one bowl, one wine glass and one tablespoon but no teaspoons. No extra blankets. Made a complaint with reception the next morning & requested the owner contact us, still waiting. I have also reviewed the other accommodation in the surrounding area and there are 9 other accommodation places within 8 minutes of Balan Village Motel with similar or better price & rating. These are Avaleen Lodge Motor Inn, Bomaderry Motor In, Pleasant Way River Lodge, George Bass Motor In, Quest Nowra, Parkhaven, Marriot Park Hotel, The Nowra Motor Inn, Archer Hotel. One of my friends was sick for 3 days after coming back from staying at this motel which indicates that this hotel is in breach of the health regulations in my opinion. As a result, I have now reported this to the Health Dept. My recommendation do not stay at this place if you value your health especially since there are plenty of other accommodation places to stay at as stated above.

Generous size room, comfortable king bed and large sofa to sit on, as well as tables and chairs in the room. Outside your door there is another table with 2 chairs, as well as a BBQ area near the pool. Our room wasn’t quite ready when we arrived, but the receptionist Sarah went above and beyond to prepare the room for us. The bathroom is huge and everywhere is very clean. McDonalds, KFC and Woolworths are across the road, but I would highly recommend eating at Tony’s Modern Chinese Restaurant on site, which is very clean, friendly and has delicious generous meals. Would highly recommend and would love to come back here again.

The accommodation consisted of bathroom sitting room and separate bedroom. Bigger than expected. Disliked · Air conditioner did not work. Pumping out air not much warmer than the ambient temperature, even though set at maximum temperature.. Room cleanliness was average. A dirty sock behind the bedroom door. A hole in the wall caused by the bedroom door. Unattended reception even though advertised to be open during office hours.

We stayed here overnight and found the hotel room to be well set up, very comfortable bed and clean. We also managed to get a room where it was possible to charge our Tesla overnight. We walked across the road to various shops. The on site restaurant menu looked good but we had already eaten mediocre fish and chips at Gerringong.

Schönes Motel, super zu erreichen direkt an der Straße. Freundlicher schneller Check-in. Zimmer sind gemütlich, sauber und mit einer Mikrowelle ausgestattet. Es gibt sogar einen kleinen Pool. Direkt nebenan gibt es mehrere Supermärkte und Restaurants.
