La Bastide Guest House

Lovely area, quite safe. No soap to shower with no fresh milk, no tea only rooibos. Coffee very basic. Fridge was not turned on. Otherwise a pleasant stay, it was clean and furnished well. TV was not working.

La Bastide Jasmine is such a lovely room with scenic views. However, the following was an issue. The hot water tap in the shower was more Luke warm, and the next morning we had no hot water. No tea in the room, only coffee sachets. The room is big enough for a queen size bed, the double bed is a bit small. I won't book this room again, if I know there are people staying right above you. You can hear every part of the conversation, dropping things on the floor and every toilet flush. The bathroom barn door in Jasmine rattles when the people above walk up and down. They did not care that there were people below. Please work on sound proofing Jasmine's roof.

Great place, very nice and cozy and tidy. Only two things I didn't like: 1. The quality of the pillows ... I struggled to sleep on them because they were too hard. I'm used to sleeping on feather pillows. 2. I didn't like that I had to make a phone call every time I wanted to enter or exit the place. Would have been better if I was given a remote for the gate to the house.

I stayed at La Bastide for a night to attend a wedding and it was wonderful. I will be returning in the future.

We only stayed for one night, as we were attending a function at another venue close by. The only criticism I have is regarding access from the main gate (on the road). When we came back (at around 23:00 at night), my phone's battery was dead and we did not have a charger in the car. I therefore could not phone the number we had been given to get in. Fortunately (but this was a bit concerning from a security point of view), the gate was open and we could get in. The room we stayed in was perfect for our requirements. Very clean and neat, no problem with hot water for 2 people. Definitely recommended!!

Our stay was comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The road in and out can be a challenge for 2 vehicles to pass each other. We stayed in the cottage, please move the small sement table away from the plants in the corner. Would have been nice to be able to use it.
