I started to make a list less than 24 hours into my stay because I was beyond giddy and beyond impressed. I’m not a religious person at all, but “God is in the details” and Dena is a miracle worker who doesn’t skip a beat!!! From the amazingly soft sheets, the electric fireplace, the beautiful robes, the reusable water bottles, any toiletry kit you might need, a stocked kitchen with flashlights/bug spray/aloe vera/honey sticks for coffee/to-go cups, the best smelling shampoo, and many more!! I was just STUNNED at what an amazing oasis this was. The employees, and of course, Dena, were beyond nice and friendly, as well as the other guests. I went for a solo birthday weekend and had to take a mug/robe home with me! Dena even did a very nice and special gesture when she found out it was my birthday. I even extended my trip to stay longer. The history is rich, the facilities are updated and yet still have the necessary old charm, and the breakfasts are great. I will be back 100 more times - especially for fall and winter heaven 😍 Added bonus: It is a kid-free zone 🙌🏻😂 THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️

We booked three rooms at Caldwell House for our daughter's wedding nearby. Our room (Antrim) was very comfortable, and we appreciated the lovely grounds. Breakfast was very tasty, and I was pleased to have a wide selection of teas. My daughter, who has celiac disease, said that the gluten-free breakfasts were excellent. We also booked the bridal suite so that six of us could get our hair and makeup done before the wedding, and the room had good lighting, a full-length mirror, and plenty of seating.

My husband and I came here a few years ago and got engaged. We wanted to come back to celebrate my birthday and had a fabulous time. The history of the house is fascinating and the grounds are beautiful. We love sitting out back and sipping on wine or coffee! The breakfasts are delicious and seem to be made with love. We highly recommend this B&B!

We had a wonderful stay at the Caldwell House. The grounds were beautiful. The room was great. It was very relaxing. It was a wonderful ninth anniversary for me and my wife. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway. Alan

This was our second stay at the caldwell house and both stays were fantastic! We stayed in the Harmony Hill room for the large soaking tub and electric fireplace. Plus king size bed. Upon entering the room it smelled like you were at the spa. Candies next to the bed were a sweet touch. There's always a basket of snacks left for guests as well. Breakfast is delicious always. Fruit and yogurt, Danish, egg and veggies souffle, potatoes, and bacon on day 1. Day 2 was fruit, scones, scrambled eggs, sausage, and cinnamon bun waffles. Dena is friendly and accommodating. Our stays have been quiet, peaceful, romantic and relaxing. We can't wait to return to the caldwell house!!!! Thank you, Dena and staff!

Stayed here for my birthday and couldn’t have picked a better spot to unwind. The room was spacious and full of character, with a beautiful soaking tub tastefully integrated right into the space. It added a subtle touch of luxury without feeling overdone—very charming. The property was incredibly quiet—we happened to be the only guests that night, and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Wandering the grounds after dark, taking in the garden under the stars, was a peaceful highlight I didn’t know I needed. Breakfast the next morning was decent—not a standout meal, but satisfying and appreciated. It’s clear the focus here is on comfort, calm, and understated hospitality. Overall, a lovely stay in a well-maintained historic home. Would happily return the next time I'm passing through the Hudson Valley.

This was such a relaxing trip, where we would definitely stay again! John and Dena are so accommodating and nice. The breakfast was amazing each day… Dena home makes everything each morning! The room was great and very clean. The location is also amazing… it’s secluded enough but has everything very close by.

Everything about the Caldwell House and our Cliffs of Mohr room was wonderful! The bed was SO comfortable...we didn't want to get out of it. The breakfasts were out of this world and Dena, Dawn and Katie went out of their way to make us feel at home.

A beautiful home, lovely hosts and delicious breakfast. The grounds are stunning with room for many guests so I can easily understand why they’re a sought after wedding venue. The linens were indeed quite lovely. There were some good dinner options not too far away—we went to a BBQ place in the next town that was good and then a pizza place right down the road. If you go be sure to read the Historical Marker at the foot of the property.
