Deangate Motel

A gem! Last minute booking, clean, comfortable and a fab place run by fab people. The Motel ground floor rooms are perfect and cannot give anything less than Excellent, Excellent and Excellent.

The deangate motel was very clean and well informative with leaflets for things to do and places to eat.. single room had tea and coffee making facilities... Well worth the money if your just passing through, Clean bedding and towels for bath and shower.

Excellent, good value, friendly. Lovely big room, and bathroom, clean, great amenities such as tea-making, towels. We didn't try the breakfast, but others said it was nice. Lydney nearby has several options for evening meals. Recommended.

We stayed here in July 2024 as a family of 7 across three rooms. We were attending a wedding in Lydney and live nearly 3 hours away, so we asked if it was possible for one room to be ready early so we could get dressed. Deangate went above and beyond and made sure all 3 rooms were ready early at no additional cost. It was an easy and quick check in and contactless check out. The rooms were spacious and clean, and very well priced. Exactly what we needed. Thank you so much and we look forward to staying again when visiting family in the area.

So accommodating and helpful. Really nice clean rooms and excellent staff who are onside because they own the business. Great job. They let us stay a little longer and even texted me after they missed my call. Unbelievably helpful, pleasant and well run business

The motel was in an ideal location on the edge of town yet close to the centre. It was quiet at night. The accessible room had a huge bathroom with walk-in shower. The owner was friendly and helpful with lots of local knowledge, eg good places to eat. The disabled parking space was right outside our room.

Avoid at all costs and an absolute disgrace. We stayed here for 1 night on our way to wales. Paid £109 for a family room. It was filthy (see photos) and the mattresses so old you could feel the springs digging in when you moved. It was hot, stuffy, dirty and uncomfortable. A travelodge would have been better. I told reception on checking on about all the problems. The girl behind reception was very apologetic and friendly and said she’d speak to her manager. We went out to the local park and on returning the manager had left a message with reception that they could only move us to an upstairs flat, which was more expensive, and we would have to pay extra. Absolutely disgraceful. Do not stay!

Lovely big room, thought there may have been a fridge. Very quiet, plenty of towels, nice crisp sheets - shared bathroom but never saw any other occupants over the two days so it wasn’t a problem. Fire door propped open all weekend which is against regulations.

I booked 2x rooms for a week, on arrival, found out that I booked the wrong month! It was through a third party, but they were so accommodating and were able to amend the booking for me that night. Laura went above and beyond to help me and I am so grateful. Thank you for everything! Saved my job.
