Upon reading some of the harsher reviews of this place I was a little worried after I booked it for a weekend away for our 20 year anniversary, but I honestly don't know what people have to complain about? We spent 2 nights in Isallt Guest house. Cute building in a quirky little town surrounded by huge mounds of slate and mountains, bang opposite the railway station and across the road from a shop. Very warm welcome when we arrived and help carrying our bags up to the room. We stayed in room 3. It consisted of a decent double bed, TV, toilet and shower room, and tea making facilities. The room was comfortable and clean, and had free WIFI with a great signal. Both mornings we had a little breakfast bag waiting for us in the communal dining room consisting of cereal bars, muffins, fruit juice, and other goodies. We paid about £150 for 2 nights and thought it was great value for money. Yes the shower was a little bit rubbish, and yes the town itself is a little run down but for the price.... it's brilliant! A lovely little guest house and a great base camp for a weekend of hiking and exploring the stunning surrounding area.
