Clipper Shipp Beach Motel

We tried the new camping area at the clipper! We had a tremendous time, it was beautiful and everyone there is just so nice! It was very quiet and easy to sleep! Also they have wood, snacks and other things available for you if you forget anything!

When you book with the Clipper Shipp, you need to know what you're getting. You are going to an older motel with rooms that haven't been renovated in a long time. So you need to expect that going in. However, the rooms are very clean and have everything you could need (a new tv, a large fridge, microwave, BBQ, balcony). The suites are a bit larger and have a designated kitchen area, dining table, and separate bedroom for one of the beds. My only recommendation is that some new, crisp linens (bedding and towels) would likely go a long way though with helping it to feel a little updated. What makes this place so special though is the view and location. You are located right on the Bay of Fundy and can walk right down to explore when the tide is out. Our kids loved it here! There are lots of places to sit outside and everyone was super friendly. You can walk around with a drink and just enjoy the beautiful view. There is also wood available to purchase and you can make a bonfire on the beach. There are not many other motels/hotels where you can have that experience. It is located close to New River Beach and about a 40 minute drive from St. Andrews so it's a good location for exploring the area.

My sister and I booked a room for one night and really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view, very clean and fresh smelling room, comfy bed with nice bedding and pillows. Fair price for a room with two queen beds plus a full size fridge and stove. Close to New River beach. Easy check in and out. Our only issue were the noisy ignorant neighbors upstairs who kept us awake until almost 1 am! Next time I will request a balcony upstairs room. It wasn't the owners fault. Just very inconsiderate people who had the room above us! Can't wait to come back again! Highly recommended.

Apparently this motel is under new management. When we got there, there was no one at the office, there was a sign on door that said to pick up phone and call. We were told someone would be there to check us in in 15 minutes. We were given our keys for the room after 1/2 hour wait. When we entered the room, it is like you were going back in the 1970´s. the room was very dated and needede to be upgraded. The zinc for washing dishes is in the bathroom, the microwave did not work, the BBQ did not work, hardly any water pressure, the fridge was all dented and rust on it. The room was however clean and the view is spectacular. This motel is definetely overpriced for what you are getting. I can't speak for all the rooms, but the one we had clearly needs to be updated, specially the pink bathtub from the 70's.

TLDR: booked on May 19th through their website for July 26th stay. Was told on July 23rd that our room had been canceled due to overbooking. I had booked a suite for myself and 2 teammates on May 19th because we had a roller derby tournament at end end of July. I was the first person on my team of 20 to book the Clipper Shipp. On July 22nd, one of our teammates was called and told her suite was canceled due to overbooking. She had booked through *******. Due to the remote location and tournament, everything in the area was booked at this point. I had booked directly through their website and received a confirmation from the Clipper Shipp gmail account directly, so I thought I would be safe. I called to make sure my booking was ok.The woman on the phone said she would call back in 5 minutes. Nearly an hour later, she called back. She said our suite was canceled because ownership changed over in April. Apparently the old owners did everything by hand and the new owners did not realize rooms had been booked since last year. In that case, most all of my team should have had their rooms canceled. The manager lied to me. I asked for a confirmation email that I would not be billed for the room. I was assured by the manager present on Tuesday that I would receive one. I never did. Mind you, I had a slew of teammates staying there and they all booked after me. Other than myself and one other teammate’s room, everyone else still had their rooms. This woman’s rationale did not make any sense. First of all, I had to call myself. They did not call me to let me know. We were driving 11 hours from New Jersey on Friday the 26th, and I had to find out for myself on Tuesday the 23rd. Then to find out that rooms booked after ours were not canceled did not add up whatsoever. What if I hadn’t called? Would we drive 11 hours and show up and there would just be…nowhere for us to stay? I called back on Wednesday and spoke to Tammy. She had worked there when the old owners were there and only works Wednesdays. Tammy was lovely and tried asking about what had happened. I told her other teammates booked after me, and they still had their rooms, so the other manager’s “we’re overbooked and going in order of bookings” rationale did not check out. When Tammy got back to me, she let me know “I’m sorry, it doesn’t make any sense to me either. I can see that you had a reservation, but that it was canceled and I don’t know why”. Luckily, one of our teammates who had booked 2 suites after we booked (and somehow didn’t get canceled) were willing to consolidate their rooms and we stayed there anyway. New ownership is a mess. The old owners still own granite town hotel and sea view motel & cottages.

Due to an Insurance claim we had to live in a hotel for a 2 week period. We couldn't have picked a better place to go. The staff was super accommodating. The room was beautiful and clean. We live in a tourist area and our problems started on a Friday night. They were totally booked but called us back as soon as they had a cancellation. I'm disabled and they found ways to help that went above and beyond. After all of those great things I almost forgot to say that we stayed in a couple of different rooms and every room has a breath taking view of the ocean.

The best days of our life together. I have a photo on my table, shows my wife smiling on your deck. Afraid she is gone, and I cannot make it there alone. We had some beautiful, magical times there. Now only in my memories and dreams. We have enjoyed the amazing sunset and a home-cooked meal on our deck of overlooking the Bay of Fundy for a number of years now. Accommodations boast a well-equipped kitchen for cooking and very clean room that is well taken care of. Walking on the beach and having a bonfire at night is lovely too. Close to New River Beach and not too far from St. Andrews - the seaside town. We try to go at least once a year for our Anniversary. Love it here!!

just by chance I stumbled upon this pure gem. I had only planned on one night or even a few hours just to sleep, so I could continue on my travels. When I entered my room, I stood for a few minutes, looked around and went back to book an extra night. It was heaven here on earth and immaculately clean.
