I stayed here for 4 nights during the heatwave! Fortunately the air conditioning was very good. Usual Ibis room, comfy bed decent bathroom with good shower. Hotel is only a few yards from the bus and tram stop and the tram goes to the railway station which is better than the 20 minute uphill walk! Hotel is only a short walk from the main square, shopping streets, restaurant area and the river. Buffet breakfast was a good start to the day and all the staff were helpful and friendly. My first stay in Besançon and I'd gladly stay here again.

Un ottima struttura moderna e funzionale che offre anche una discreta mezza pensione nell'adiacente bistrot. Camera molto spaziosa con spettacolare bagno semicircolare, letto grande e comodo, macchina caffè Nespresso e bollitore per te,biscotti e bottiglia d'acqua. Parcheggio sotterraneo. Comodissimo per raggiungere il centro città che è proibito alle macchine tramite paletti elevatori : basta attraversare il ponte adiacente o passeggiare lungo il fiume per qualche centinaio di metri. La colazione ottima ed abbondante. Il posto giusto per vivere Besançon. .

First, the walk from the train station through Rue Battant may make you question your choice of destination as it runs through a poor, but safe, neighborhood. The surroundings are more favorable with fewer deserted storefronts when you cross Pont Battant. The hotel street, however, just across the river, appears from the outside to be a bit rundown. The hotel itself foes not run the whole block as it may appear in pictures; it is only 1 doorway. Once you gain access to the hotel by ringing the doorbell, you will be buzzed into the ”lobby,” a dark area with a large desk where you will eventually meet the proprietor, a hard-working man who serves as manager of the hotel, sets up the limited breakfast buffet (it is not worth the 13 euros charged per person for cold cereal, pan au chocolate circled by flies from the open windows, juice, packaged yogurt, & a coffee-dispensing machine), & serves as waiter at the rear-facing restaurant downstairs. The man wanders in and out clearing breakfast dishes from previous breakfast guests, & one day, he offered us eggs to be made in the connected restaurant. He is, in fact, very nice and helpful, but the whole affair is very casual. The hotel is spread over 4 floors of 4 tiny rooms each, some of which have a lovely river view and some of which have a view of the busier square behind the hotel where cafes abound. Our room was adequate, and we didn't bump into each other much. There was a small wall-mounted TV (all French channels), mini fridge, & private bathroom with shower. After a day, we relaxed and got used to our accommodations. For the price (under 100 euros per night for the 2 of us), it was fine. At that price, you don't expect luxury, and we did not see any luxurious hotels on our walks around town. Town was charming.

Abbiamo usato Campanile in Francia per circa 30 anni. Purtroppo, in questi ultimi tempi, essi sono stati costantemente in declino, nonostante qualche riabilitazione. La donna che gestisce l'hotel il sabato sera con il cuoco era l'unica cosa buona. La stanza si riempiva di fumo e era fredda, perché il riscaldamento non funzionava bene, nonostante i suoi migliori tentativi, quindi ci diede un riscaldamento che funzionava bene. I mobili erano una miscela di originale verde marrone Campanile e un bagno parzialmente rigenerato che era in condizioni disgustose. Quando arrivammo al ristorante, eravamo 10 minuti prima alle 18:50 e ci ha informato che eravamo troppo presto, ma abbiamo spiegato che volevamo solo iniziare con una bevanda, che serviva correttamente. In quel momento, siamo stati gli unici due clienti che avevano avuto tutta la sera, quindi non c'era buffet, solo un menu estremamente limitato di cibo che non era stato completamente riscaldato. Fatevi un favore e trovate un altro marchio di hotel, come ci piacerà la prossima volta. È molto triste come ci siamo davvero divertiti la semplice comodità di Campanile, ma sembrano essere corrotti e abbandonati come un marchio.

First of all, the cost to stay here was cheap so I understand that it was not going to be luxurious in any way. We stayed for 1 night as we were visiting Franche-Comte. The location is just outside Besançon in a residential area. Handy for the tram and a short drive into the town. The staff were friendly enough. Our room was on the bottom floor. The hallway and our room were uncomfortably hot and stuffy. There was no air con in the room and, as it was a hot day, it was an uncomfortable temperature and difficult to sleep. The room was very basic. It reminded me of student accommodation. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and we had a thin pillow each. Otherwise, the room was clean. I personally wouldn’t stay here again but if you were looking for a one night stop for a cheap price it would be fine.

UUtente ospiteThis property has everything one needs for a short stay. The interior is very cosy and homy. Room was well equipped and bathroom was brand new. Bed was very comfortable too. We've had a nice rest at night. Everything is very clean and well thought through. Breakfast was delivered to our room on time and in an organised manner. Pierre and Klervie at the reception were brilliant and went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. They have even helped to carry our bags to the room (we were moving and the car was full of bags that needed to be transported into the room). This was very sweet and kind of them. Furthermore, they were very polite and friendly. Excellent job. Excellent reception and first impression of the hotel. Management is lucky to have both of them. I've stayed in many hotels and this is not something normal to happen even in high-end properties. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but many nice places around. Easy to find something to eat. Highly recommend.

Located in the city center, which is almost entirely pedestrian (as a customer of a hotel, you can drive in), this hotel cost half of the price of every other hotel we looked at. High points: they fit all five of us in one room, with two double (very firm) beds and a twin size bed. Everything was clean and in good working order (wifi Fi, tv, private bathroom facilities, lights, curtains, etc.). Staff was very kind and quick to respond. Excellent location with citadel bus and tourist train at the end of the street. Breakfast (additional fee) was excellent with many cold options such as croissants, cheese, a wide variety of fresh fruit, ham, boxed cereal, bread, and hot coffee, cocoa, and tea. Low points: hallway smelled faintly of cigarettes (room was fine). The elevator was too small for a wheelchair. I've got mild mobility issues so I pay attention to details pertaining to accessibility. The room was so small it wouldn't accommodate a wheelchair and I think a person with a walker or even a cane would find it uncomfortable or even inaccessible. The bathroom (a very narrow bath with handheld shower head) was a real challenge for me and I ended up needing my husband's assistance. That said, I spoke to the lady at the front desk. We were only staying for one night but I asked if I could call in future for a room with a shower etc. and she absolutely said that would work and they would arrange whatever we needed. So I recommend calling them (they speak English, German, and Spanish in addition to French) if you have any concerns. I don't know whether they have ground floor rooms that are wheelchair accessible, for instance. TL;DR: a great little place with very helpful staff, clean and very well located. Excellent price but don't expect luxury, just a pleasant stay, so long as you call for any specific needs in advance.

Bonjour..! Très bon rapport qualité- prix..! Pour le prix..le petit déjeuner est très correct... La chambre ( 47) spacieuse et fonctionnelle.. Le personnel au Top..notamment la personne qui s'occupait du ménage/ accueil..etc...une vraie polyvalence..!..Bravo!!.. Évidemment..Petit bémol...les personnes qui claquent les portes de leur chambres...insupportable l'irrespect..!! Et point..très positif...l'accueil des animaux de compagnie.. 4€/ pour le week-end..! Stayed for 1N whilst in Besancon. It was somewhat challenging to find the entrance to this hotel - my satnav took me to the right area but signposted the wrong side of the road, and because there was no lighting at all on the signage at the entrance to the road to the Ibis at night, it didn't catch my eye. So a few wasted drives past searching for the entrance to the parking garage in the wrong place. Room was good for the price. No issues on that front. Breakfast was continental. Average range of options. Price very reasonable, and competitive.

UUtente ospiteThe location is lovely. The parc is quite pleasant and walking to the center of town is easy. The hotel seems not to have been renovated since the 1980's. The woman at the front desk when we arrived was just lovely, very friendly. The room however was disappointing. Bathroom had not been well cleaned, dust on the tp holder, the shower curtain (yes, a thin white polyester shower curtain) was dirty at the edge. The carpet hadn't been changed in years. The room served its purpose for one night. Where the experience went even further downhill was dinner in the restaurant. We had a deluge that evening and my husband recommended we just eat at the hotel. I suspected this was not a good idea but ok. The food was dreadful; they had to re-heat his dish twice, the service was fine, they tried but could not make it work. Fortunately they had a very good bottle of wine that only slightly made up for the meal. So to summarize, best stay somewhere else in Besançon.

NNicole GBonjour, je vais sans doute aller à l’encontre de certaines opinions mais voilà en avril 2024 nous avons séjourné 2 nuits non consécutives dans la même semaine, c’est vrai que la 1ère nuit nous étions au 4ème étage dans une chambre correcte mais sans plus, la douche était très petite (avec le rideau c’était impossible de se retourner) sinon la literie était bonne et la 2ème nuit nous étions au 3ème étage alors là c’était super, une grande chambre spacieuse avec une douche à l’Italienne lit confortable et nous avons aimé dans les 2 chambres les écrans de télé bien placés et assez grand en dimension. Nous avons pris un petit déjeuner à 8€50 qui nous convenait parfaitement, il y avait tout ce qu’il fallait pour nous, nous avons trouvé le personnel très sympathique et très aimable. La situation face à la gare et au pôle bus est parfaite. Nous y reviendrons.

Ho soggiornato una notte durante il mio viaggio dalla Normandia all'Italia, è in posizione comodissima a due minuti dall'uscita dell'autostrada, si trova in una zona commerciale quindi negozi, supermercato e fast food raggiungibili a piedi in pochi minuti. La camera era molto pulita e accogliente, perfettamente funzionanti tv, wi-fi, aria condizionata, c'era anche un bollitore con bustine di thè e caffè e biscotti, ma c'è assolutamente bisogno di una ristrutturazione, innanzitutto togliere la moquette, comprare un bollitore nuovo, ridipingere le pareti e ricordarsi di mettere la carta igienica in bagno!!! Per 57 euro (compresa la tariffa per il mio cane) la carta igienica la pretendo!!! Sicuramente non presenta gli standard di altri hotel Campanile, avrei dovuto dedurlo dal prezzo più basso della media...
