The main disturbance of the stay was a fire alarm that went off in all rooms in the whole hotel at midnight. All guests went outside and were desperately trying to contact anyone from the hotel for a couple of hours, but it was unreachable until the morning. Guests called police and fire department which arrived and tried for a couple of hours to silence the alarm. They succeeded shortly before 2AM, until which time no one could go inside, let alone sleep.
Police said that this is not the first time that fire alarm goes off in this hotel and the hotel is not reachable by phone.
Aside from the great disturbance that this fire alarm caused, it is outrageous to think that the hotel would not be reached even in case of a real emergency for 12 hours per day.
Moreover, hotel promised a tiny refund in exchange of silence!!
This comes in addition to an awful checkin experience - I have not received the promised email with the access code until I contacted hotels com support right before my airplane to Bergamo. Since I was arriving after 11PM and the hotel is not reachable at night, I hate to think that I might have been left in front of the hotel without checkin instructions that night. Another hotel guest also confirmed to me that he also hadn’t got the code before he contacted support right before his arrival.
Given the above, the broken lift, the loose door knob in the room all seem to be minor issues.
This hotel is deeply unprofessional and should be avoided at all cost.
