Apartamentos Avenida

We are just back from a week here with the full board option at the restaurant in the hotel across the street. I cannot fault this place. We had a 1 bedroom apartment facing out the back, we did ask for a street view but when we got in I realised the back facing rooms still had a balcony which we were more than happy with (as smokers). The apartment was spotless and well equipped with everything we needed, not that we cooked as we had our meals over the road. It is a bit dated but this didn’t bother us at all. The staff in both the apartments and hotel were phenomenal, so friendly and attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. On our arrival they told us that we could get a packed lunch for the airport heading home which was a nice surprise to us. There was a deposit of €100 when we checked in and we got this back on check out. It is only payable by cash but they take either euros or pounds which if I knew I probably would have paid in pounds but it wasn’t the end of the world. The food in the restaurant was lovely, I was a bit sceptical about it however there was always lots of options, show cooking, pastas, salads and soup. The deserts were lovely too. The wine was very cheep in the restaurant and the beer was reasonably priced. We visited the roof top pool and terrace once but as it was January didn’t use the pool. It seemed lovely too. I would definitely stay here again as the price we paid and what we got was fantastic.

We stayed in the avenida apartments from 19th September until the 26th. We’ve stayed before and always found it lovely and clean. The first night we arrived we was told our room we requested wasn’t available due to a fault, which can’t be helped. So was told to stay a night in the hotel. No problems with this other than wanting to unpack and settle, but again can’t be helped. The day after we could move to room 411 and was told this was as equally a nice a room as the one we had originally requested. It was horrendous. The floors were filthy, every other tile was smashed, the bathroom only had a shower which was dirty. The room itself was directly next to the elevator which was so loud even in the middle of the day. My partner suffers from frequent migraines so the constant noise of the lift would be a literal pain. So after complaining to a lady at reception who was rude, we changed rooms to 409. This room was slightly cleaner other than the cigarette ash all over the bathroom floor, the broken sofa arm, the air conditioning not fully working, the toilet on a continuous flush and the cockroaches that would run out towards your feet. This was a better room. We headed back to the hotel as we still had our key for the room and had left a case in there. To open the door to a woman getting changed and her husband unpacking all while they ignored our suitcase in the corner. Apparently they’ll move someone in whilst your bed is still warm 👍🏻 About night 2 of our holiday we got a stag party next door of about 6/7 lads. Even though stag/hen groups aren’t allowed, this was allowed. They was very noisy and played music until very late at night right next to the wall for our bedroom. At this point we didn’t know what was better noise, the stag group or the lift (at least the lift made different noises compared to the stag group playing the same 3 songs). One of the days we decided to go into the hotel for our lunch for half an hour to come back to our towels folded at the bar. It’s one rule for one here and one for another apparently. Other guests who would leave their towel a few hours to come back to it still on their lounger but we go for lunch in THEIR hotel and they move our towels 🙃 Very disappointing to say the least. When we’ve paid quite a lot for our holiday and was given below sub-par it’s shocking. It really ruined our holiday and as a treat for my birthday it spoiled that too

We are here at the moment and awaiting a room change. We are here for 2 weeks and our balcony faces a brick wall. The apartment is very basic and outdated but has everything we need except a hairdryer but can easily purchase one. The bed mattress is one of those very cheap ones where you can feel the springs. Yes you get what you pay for, I get that but just a few small changes would make these apartments much more appealing.

We were originally given an inward facing apartment but requested a street view and Oscar the very helpful receptionist organised this for us (among lots of other things he was so helpful) the apartment was very clean we didn’t see a single cockroach (kept the plugs in all sinks) we were in 406 and overlooked the street which gave us an amazing view, especially when the fiesta started. The location is amazing in the old town close to all the shops, bars and tapas alley. This is not the Ritz but for what we paid we absolutely loved it here, we were half board and couldn’t fault choice and quality of food at hotel. Evening entertainment in hotel is aimed mostly at older generation but there is plenty to do close by. I would recommend these apartments!

So we are here 10 days now out of our 14 day stay and I must say I am very impressed. The apartment is compact but has everything you could need, they are kept immediately clean by a very polite team. We have so far had our bed changed twice and towels changed regularly. The apartment is quite dated and could do with a bit of a makeover but the location is fantastic.

On arrival we found a huge cockroach inside one the of the kitchen cabinets. We alerted the receptionist and he came up and sprayed around the kitchen, he was even freaked out when he seen the size of it and physically wrestled it to the floor. He said we were unable to move rooms as there were no others available. We had ants all over the balcony crawling through a cracked tile, one night they were coming up through the kitchen sink and all over the worktops, they also came up through the cooking hobs. So we were afraid to open anymore cupboards or even cook a simple meal here. Beds were very lumpy & uncomfortable and felt like we were being eaten alive, which I was as every day I woke up I was covered in ant bites. Hot water doesn't last long enough for 2 people to have a shower, you have to be in and out in minutes or the other person will have to wait at least an hour for the water to reheat. Maids left clean towels and emptied bins most days, however our beds were not changed until 2 days before we were coming home and we stayed for 1 4 nights. Laundry was handy to have although €4 for one wash I thought was quite expensive. We had also paid for a balcony with a view and our balcony faced onto a white walled alley way which we were advised the supermarket was below us and they sprayed cockroaches every morning causing them to fly into peoples apartments and up through sinks etc. Staff were lovely people always friendly and helpful. But cleanliness was a big factor for us especially being there for 2 weeks.

The apartment was very spacious and was very clean and checked every couple of days. Good size balcony with furniture. Bedding and towels are pristine white and big bath sheets. The rooms are dated but fully equipped apart from an oven 😂Staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Stayed for Christmas and New year Really impressed with the location and facilities Very good value and beautiful breakfast Will be returning for my birthday Jan 2025 and will stay in the hotel

Great location, rooms are good very spacious. The view in ours was poor but if you are in one that overlooks the street that would be a lot better. Bed wasn't the best but don't want to complain as it did what we wanted. Great location, very friendly staff. Everything you need in the room. Clean hotel.
