Hotel Avenida

We have stayed at the Avenida twice before and were looking forward to 3 weeks in January. Our main issue was the freezing cold air conditioning in the bar and public areas. We repeatedly asked for it to be turned off but were met with negative comments from the staff. We had a lovely room with sea views but it was freezing cold, I slept with my clothes on every night . We complained about the cold room and were told that an engineer would make sure we could turn the air con to warm, it didn’t happen. Both my husband and I developed chest infections as did several other guests, we suspect it was the air con. After a week of being cold and poorly we paid to come home 10 days early. The hotel has gone downhill, food was poor quality and the bar area is looking very shabby. We were supposed to go back in March but have changed our booking to a hotel which is worthy of 4 stars unlike the Avenida. I would not recommend this hotel and would never return.

Just back from a christmas break first impressions receptions so so friendly room was nice but looking onto people's houses we could have upgraded as I already spent nearly 2k I went bugger it domestics were so nice and cheerful I booked full board plus water and wine at dinner meals well breakfast cold lunch started of cold and dry same with dinner spoke to the jet2 rep about it she agreed and got them to turn down the air con down that went down well we were actually pointed out for complaining bar staff very ignorant would I stay at this hotel again yes I would on a room only basis as the hotel was clean comfy and central

This was my 2nd visit here, I came in September with my dad, felt so welcome and safe that I rebooked for my first Solo trip, the staff are all very friendly and welcoming, nothing too much trouble, the hotel is very clean, I had a balcony room over looking the Main Street, great for people watching, the entertainment is what you make of it as with anything, I really enjoyed the entertainment, I danced and got involved, booked full board + but didn’t eat much at the hotel only because I was out all day wanted to see as much as I could so did a lot of day trips, there is lots of choice for all meals even for the fussiest of eaters, I didn’t once feel like a solo traveler thanks to the great staff and guests and always felt safe, there are a lot of bad reviews on here but a holiday is what you make of it, be nice and people will be nice back, have an issue speak to the staff, they will always help if your polite, they work long hard hours and I appreciate that, I didn’t visit the pool or the gym but I met lots of people who did and they enjoyed it, I will definitely be coming back to this hotel, thank you to all the staff

Hotel staff was great Lucius the legend absolute can not fault most helpful friendliest guy ever spot on loved him. On entering the hotel room was very happy lovely and clean AC worked fine we had a sea view balcony room view was lovely. The cleaners were fab cleaned our room daily very nice cleaned it too to bottom. Drinks were descent enough one miserable bar man can’t remember his name but Fran and another young fellow both really nice on the bar. Didn’t tether the food that much English breakfast was okay but we decided to eat out most nights lunch and dinner wasn’t great not much option. Drinks service wasn’t the best in the dining hall so didn’t bother eating in the hotel much. Would stay again but it’s for the older I think but quiet lacks entertainment but nice enough and enjoyed our stay big up to our boss man Lucius once again.

We were a bit concerned reading some of these reviews but the hotel is great! Ok the lifts are slightly small but we just used the stairs (2nd floor room so not too challenging!). We booked a balcony room which I’d really recommend. Meant we could people watch while enjoying a drink. The area outside is a bit busy but it means you literally have everything on your doorstep. You can walk to the beach in one direction or into the Old Town with tapas alley and tapas square nearby. We were all inclusive and although we didn’t eat all our meals in the hotel, what we did have was really good, well cooked and plenty of choice. Bar area is inside and great selection of drinks and entertainment. Staff were all friendly and efficient and we would definitely return (hopefully soon) Thank you Avenida!

Best Hotel in the old Town staff are like family very helpful polite and up for a laugh rooms are spotless could do with a bit of modernisation but can't fault the hotel great views sea mountain and people watching a tip book a balcony room loads of English bars a stone throw a way from cabaret at Klee cafe just out of the hotel turn left and straight across also pig and whistle next door to Klee cafe they also have entertainment nightly different artists and then the beach is a 2 minute walk away this is my second visit this year to this hotel and have been before and also booked for next year the photos are views from my balcony
