Great spot to stay over and see attractions in area. Very hot and windy at night. Easy access to Riemvasmaak and Augrabies falls

We had the most wonderful time at Khamkirri. We loved camping next to beautiful Orange River. What made our stay of 8 days more amazing is the incredible host; Rowan and Philippa and their entire team. We had sundowners and dinner at the restaurant, food is excellent. Thank you Rowan and Philippa for making Phil's Birthday cake. he says its the best cake he had in a long time. We be sure to come back. Thank you and Truly All the Best! Lee

We stayed at Khamkirri as part of a wedding anniversary trip. It is lovely to be right on the Orange River and the cabins are comfortable. The camp site looked really nice too with good shade and grass. When I booked to stay there I had mentioned that I wanted to do some cool outings for our wedding anniversary and Phillipa made some great suggestions that we could book on arrival. When we arrived I did not meet Phillipa and I asked a number of times if we could find out about the trips that she had suggested and no one ever got back to me. One of the things we wanted to do was a trip to Riemvasmaak. Over email she had said that it is not accessible without a 4 x 4 and quoted quite an unreasonable amount to be taken there. After not having any success with feedback about doing said trip, we decided to just see how far we got ourselves in our VW Golf. We got all the way to the hot springs and it was fine (albeit a little dodgy on the last stretch) so we didn't need them afterall. While the actual venue is nice the welcome and service is lacking. We wouldn't go back.

Very nice and quite stay. The bathrooms are neat with a nice hot shower. There is a kitchen area and we received two bundles of wood on arrival for a braai. The scenery next to the Orange river is very relaxing and beautiful. We only stayed one nights and will definitely stay there again if we are travelling in that direction in the future.

This place is a hidden gem, nestled right on the banks of the orange river it is simply awesome , firstly you need to travel 17ks on a gravel road so ideally a 4x4 is needed but we did it in a VW polo and although a tad bumpy was fine , everything about this place is top notch, we stayed in a 4 4 birth cabin roughly 10 feet from the riverbank and the views especially at sunset will blow your mind , the cabin has everything you need ,fully air conditioned and a huge luxurious bed , they do a sunset cruise which I thoroughly recommend, the open air restaurant is lovely and the food superb and well priced , there really isn't anything bad to say , Phillipa the owner is a wealth of knowledge and can advise you on pretty much anything, locally there's wine tasting, a lovely little town with a really well stocked spar plus chip shop and KFC if you want your fix of takeaways , If you go anywhere in south Africa go here you won't regret it

This was my second trip to Khamkirri. the previous time I was camping, but this time I booked the beautiful appointed chalets. It has all the luxuries you need, from comfy beds to a spacious deck to sit and take it the beautiful views of the river. The restaurant also serves excellent food. The hosts Danie and Philippa go out of their way to make your stay at Khamkirri just wonderful.

We stayed in one of the log cabins. very neat, clean, welcoming and comfortable. Staff very helpful. Great Cocktails at the bar. Grounds well looked after. Best sunset

We enjoyed the warm friendly staff and clean and vert neat place. the restaurant was also a nice surprise. Camping with your own ablution is a luxury from home. If you want to relax this is the place to go. we will be back.
