Jo and Peter gave us a very warm welcome and immediately made us feel right at home. A beautiful and very comfortable setting in a gorgeous landscape. Beautifully appointed rooms, with views extending over the lawns to Aoraki. The boiled fruit cake was always something to look forward to on our return before venturing into town later for dinner. We cannot rate this lodge highly enough

Lovely place to stay just outside of town. The room was beautiful and it had views of Mount Cook which was a bonus. The breakfast was enjoyable. All in all a good stay in a lovely peaceful location. If ever in the area again then we would definitely try to book the Matuka Luxury Lodge.

Luxury Lodge with every comfort you could require. Guy was an excellent host cooking the perfect breakfast and his homemade Fruit Cake was absolutely delicious as were his home made chocolate chip cookies. A great place to stay and well located to visit Mount Cook.

We arrived a couple of days ago. Guy opened the door to the lodge and we saw a beautiful pond and I thought I am going to love it here. Guy and Jamie were perfect hosts and we were sorry to leave this morning. The two breakfasts were extremely good and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks Guy and Jamie x

Wonderful relaxing stay at Matuka Lodge, the accommodation is fantastic, spacious and comfortable, with stunning views (we were blessed with great weather to really make the most of them). The hosts are friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were good and there are complementary snacks and an honesty bar for guests. Matuka Lodge was our favourite accommodation from our whole NZ trip. The only drawback to our stay (nothing to do with Matuka Lodge) was that we personally had two disappointing dining experiences in Twizel, but may have just been unlucky on the days as other guests seemed to fare better. Would 100% recommend Matuka Lodge.

Our second visit to Matuka Lodge and, although there have been a change of onwership since the first in 2020, it is still one of our favourite accommodations anywhere in the world. The well-appointed rooms are spacious and comfortable, with no noise from the adjoining; the view over the pond/lake to the moutains beyond is so relaxing and visible from all the public areas; the dark sky is amazing for star-gazing (warm blankets & relaxing garden chairs are provided precisely for the purpose) and a cooked breakfast is prepared to each guest's order. A shared table gives everyone an opportunity to meet other guests and within the hour or so great conversations can be had - if desired! Staff are friendly & helpful. Hopefully we can return again one day.

Do not hesitate to book this wonderful place. We had a stunning room overlooking a small lake with ducks to the mountains beyond. Very peaceful. Extremely clean and well cared for. Bed very comfortable, great shower. Hosts are so welcoming and helpful . Breakfast was beautifully cooked. Dinner was booked for us in Twizel Such a shame we only stayed one night- definitely the best accommodation we have had so far in NZ
