Moon River Cabins

Rooms were redone since we made our reservations and initially looked at the property, so didn't really get the room we had taken a great deal of time choosing for our needs. Very cute but problematic. They took away a bunch of parking, so it wasn't very handy for handicapped parking or getting to the cabin. No bedding for the hide a bed, no control over the air conditioning, so couldn't turn it up in the middle of the night,windows are permently shut, so the only way to enjoy the fresh air is to leave a non screened door open. One outlet on the wall at chest height didn't even have a cover on it. Absolutely no where to put suitcases or hang anything up. No working lamps in the open bedroom, and no privacy from the living room. No bedside table on one side of the queen bed that was originally supposed to be a king. Extremely small bathroom with a large shower, but if you sat on the toilet there was hardly room for your legs, and you would hit your head when you stand up. Could not get 2 people in it. It looked much bigger in the pictures. We were excited to make the trip and stay in these cabins, but we're instantly disappointed, but it was already booked for a 4 night stay, so we were stuck. Won't stay there again, even though we go to the area often.

This was a great little getaway to a beautiful Mississippi River stay! The cabin was clean and felt homey. The included hot tub outside was a huge plus too. Definitely recommend staying here.

This was a great stay for us. One week and all was perfect. Met the couple that runs the cabins and they are an amazing couple. I recommend this to anyone that wants to stay in Bellevue, Iowa.

The cabin and the grounds were newly renovated and like new. We were looking for a sort of "base camp" for our stay as we love to hike outdoors and see the sights. The bed was comfortable. We used the hot tub every morning and evening. We sat on the front porch and used the fire pit most evenings as we watched the Mississippi River with its boaters, the barges, and cruise ships. The lock and dam was interesting. The location was great as we visited Bellevue State Park, Maquoketa Caves State Park, Galena, IL, and Apple Valley State Park in IL. We also visited a couple Bellevue restaurants and the is a grocery store right up the street. The owners were very responsive and communicated well

We stay at Moon River Cabins every year because we love them so much. They are comfortable and cozy with a beautiful river view. Exceptionally clean and well-maintained, comfortable beds and furniture, well stocked kitchens with new appliances, and cute decks with overhangs so even if it rains you can sit outside and watch the river. The state park is also beautiful and is across the street. Close to Off-Shore resort and Kalmes for nice dining experiences and cute down town shops. Under new ownership and they are currently renovating inside and outside, adding hot tubs that over look the river. Highly recommend this property!
