The Merchant Hotel

Have been here few times. It has always been fantastic. So much so that we buy each other vouchers for Christmas/Birthdays etc. Big shout out to Ryan on reception (our new best friend lol) for navigating his way through our numerous vouchers. This is just a fabulous experience. Rooms are amazing. Staff are fantastic and you won’t get a better breakfast anywhere. We cannot wait to go back.

What can i say beautiful hotel was here for a 2 night stay, had previously stayed at this hotel couple of years ago. On arrival to our room it was cold, no heating on! Since our last stay could see 'cut backs' bathroom towels worn, robes very worn and certainly not soft & fluffy, very hard and worn, not what i expect in a 5* hotel. No fridge in room, would be nice to have cool water on hand and not luke warm! Dinner and service in Berts Jazz bar was brilliant. We were not able to get a seat in the Cocktail Bar either of our 2 nights stay, roof top Jacuzzi was always busy so never got to use it, when i stayed couple of years ago it was the same, i never got to sit in Cocktail Bar or use the Jacuzzi so very disappointing . Breakfast as always was fantastic from start to finish, from quality of food to the excellent service/staff. The whole ambience of The Merchant is just great.

Great location near pubs and restaurants. A short distance from sites to visit and nice walk to Titanic Experience. I booked a Deluxe Art Dec Room, and this was amazing. Perfect sleep aside from the music you could hear until 11pm but this didn't bother me as I put my ear pods and still fell asleep. The restaurant and the bar on site are a must try! Food and cocktails was so nice from breakfast to dinner. You can't go wrong! One last thing... went to see Sonny Fodera at the Custom House Square, so this was a perfect hub to be able to enjoy the show at a walking distance.

The room was beautiful and luxurious. Service at breakfast was frosty - it seemed obvious that staff were unhappy and there were issues with management of the team. The food was mediocre at breakfast. Coffee awful. Bert’s jazz bar was wonderful, including service, food and music. All round a mixed experience.

We had an amazing stay at the Merchant. Stayed in one of the art deco rooms, which was well appointed, spacious and spotlessly clean. Dinner at the hotel was spectacular. The ambiance, service and food at the restaurant are something very special. An after dinner drink in the jazz bar should also not be missed. Great hotel, great staff and great location. We will be back.

Nice hotel and well located. Unacceptably noisy at night. Loud music until 1am and then generally noisy for another hour from passers by. Very difficult to sleep and not a relaxing experience. Poor external sound insulation. Disappointing for a 5 star hotel to not have invested to resolve this issue.
