Deva Hotel Alpenhof

I only spent one night (only) at Alpenhof as it was nearby a conference venue and due to our tight schedule I did not have time for the spa, nor even the spacious balcony of my room. Breakfast was good with a very decent selection of sweet and savoury options and I would definitely stay there again when in the area. Personally, I prefer the "sleek designer look" rather than "Alpine style" but it felt authentic and fitted the environment.

We had been wanting to go skiing, but had to cancel several weekends due to the weather which had been very windy lately. So when the weather was finally ideal, it coincided with the week that all the kids in Bavaria have off. "Oh no!", we thought, when we realized it too late. But we were pleasantly surprised to arrive at the hotel and not be bombarded by children. In fact, the pool was practically empty although the sunbeds were all taken and not a child in sight! Wonderful. After 5 minutes, 2 people left, so we had sunbeds we could use. People were quiet and we had a lovely afternoon in the pool just after checking in. Their restaurant was closed due to too many of their staff having gotten Covid. So we ate dinner elsewhere but breakfast the next day was superb. Everything was great except for the coffee, which was very bad, but I'm a coffee snob, so it might be OK to those of you who aren't. I then switched to tea and that was great! I adapt easily enough. We also worked out in the fitness suite and it was really great. No one was there and there is a wide array of machines that you can use, plus disinfection spray to clean the machines afterwards. The bed was comfortable and the room was fine. The balcony opened up to a nice view of the garden and the pool. I would upgrade the TV as it only had local TV channels. It is 2022 and all hotels should really have Smart TVs where guests can enter their Netflix, Amazon Prime or Sky TV password and watch what they like. Aside from that, it was a lovely stay and when we drove to the Sudelfeld Ski Resort the next day, we were surprised to only wait 15 minutes to be allowed down the hill to the parking lot. It was around 11am by the time we got on line and it wasn't long at all. The pistes weren't crowded and this was at it's peak! The only negative was when the hotel emailed me about the room key because they apparently misplaced it. I informed them that we handed it in at checkout to the older blond lady at reception that morning and then paid the tourist tax. How on earth would we have been able to check out without a key? It was annoying to be contacted about this and it left a sour taste when I saw a missed call from the hotel the day after I had replied via email. Therefore, I took off a point for that. Aside from this, everything was great and the young woman with the long blond hair at the reception who was there when we checked in was absolutely lovely. She kept apologizing for her English but she really did speak it well and we appreciated her help. We did enjoy the hotel and would recommend it. Next time, I'll probably take a video of us checking out and handing in the key, though.

You come to a hotel that is supposed to be nice to relax a little, and then find a staff that is totally stressed and makes you feel like a burden. Our room had the windows facing the road, which was unfortunately very loud. And also, since we did not book „halb Pension“, apparently we are not welcome in the restaurant for dinner, because between 18:00 and 19:45 the ones that have booked it have priority. What the f***k?!? Unfortunately we did not enjoy it as much as we have hoped for. I would NEVER recomend it. Ever.

Das Hotel ist in Ordnung, sollte aber renoviert werden. Bäder sind relativ neu. Restaurant geht gar nicht. Keine Auswahl, man bekam nichtmal das Fleisch wie bestellt , keine normale Karte, keine Preise bei der Karte.

Gutes Essen, sehr gutes Frühstück. Zimmer sauber, Personal nett. Kleiner Spa mit Pool zum entspannen. Liegt direkt an der Alpenstrasse, zum Skigebiet Sudelfeld braucht man keine 10 minuten. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

Alles in allem ganz gut. Nur die Küche und der Service im Restaurant müssten verbessert werden. Im Restaurant stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht. Unsere Anregungen wurden jedoch aufgenommen und wir hoffen, dass es nächstes Mal verbessert wird.

Schönes Hotel mit nettem Service. Zimmer (Suite und Doppelzimmer Superior) waren gut, Pool und SPA Bereich ansprechend (es fehlte eine Ruheraum), Frühstück super, Restaurantessen auch prima. Nur WLAN funktionierte kaum, was laut Hotelpersonal an der vollen Belegung lag. Bis ins Skigebiet Sudelfeld fährt man mit dem eigenen Pkw ca. 15 Minuten. Alternativ fährt auch stündlich ein Skibus direkt vor dem Hotel ab. Wir waren enttäuscht über die Differenz zwischen kommunizierten Schneehöhen der Bergbahnen und der Realität; aber das ist ein anderes Thema...

Hotel: in die Jahre gekommen, Bad aber saniert und insgesamt gepflegt und sauber. SPA Bereich modern gepflegt, sauber und gut in Schuss Restaurant: --Service, kaum Auswahl, sehr teuer, sehr kleine Portionen, Beilagensalat entgegen der Beschreibung ohne Blattsalat. Außer sehr großer Teller deutet nichts auf gehobene Küche hin. Scheint kaum Gerichte mit frischen Produkten zu geben. Geschultes Personal sucht man vergebens, aber freundlich sind alle. Leider mangelt es oft an Aufmerksamkeit. Schafft man es für sich ein Getränk nachzubestellen, wird das leer Glas des Nachbarn ignoriert... oft auch Sprachbarrieren. An der Rezeption gibt es eine auflistende Rechnung erst auf Rückfrage. Bei der Standard-Frage, ob alles in Ordnung war wird meine Antwort: Es gibt viel Verbesserungspotential nicht weiter beachtet oder nachverfolgt. (möglicherweise Sprachbarriere)

Positiv: Sauber, Frühstück reichhaltig und Zimmer in Ordnung Negativ: -Rezeptionistin ruft einem beim Weg zum Frühstück über den Flur zu, dass man möglichst schnell auschecken soll -Skiraum ist in der früh zugespeert (im Februar, in der Früh in einem Hotel in den Bergen, in einem Ort mit Skiliften...) -kein Wechselgeld für Barzahlung der Kurtaxe vorhanden (welche man nicht per Karte zahlen kann)
