很完美的酒店，cavendish 家族的產業並經營。餐食很好，2020年的米其林，食材是自己的供應渠道。早餐豐盛。步行30分鐘可達Chatsworth House，這個季節，如果你不怕風吹的話。一路滿眼草坪和🐑，如果你看過“傲慢與偏見”，這裡是必須來的地方。

Having stayed at all the other Cavendish hotels, this time as parent of a Cavendish experience, it was rather disappointing. Yes, nice decor, staff polite, food lovely, but we did not appreciate being placed in a cold impersonal conservator for breakfast because of an event later that day. In addition, unlike the other hotels asking for green tea and other alternative infusions in the room was a big no no. The choice , coffee of standard tea. Finally, we were placed on the ground floor of the stable block, nights were disturbed with creaking floorboards above. Whilst we accept it is an old building comment and feedback given to the Manager, this has been ignored, they do not appear interested in feedback.

A 1-Michelin-Key rating here is honestly a joke. The service is cold, unengaged, and any information needs to be actively dragged out of the staff. There is no sense of hospitality or care in the way guests are looked after. As a property, it functions more like a basic B&B with an evening restaurant attached. There are no real common areas, no thoughtful spaces to relax, and even the gym is located miles away — requiring a phone booking that, in my case, was never answered. The small details are where the disappointment really adds up. Room amenities are extremely basic, and they don’t even provide slippers. The breakfast room overlooks the car park, despite the hotel having another, far cozier room which they simply choose not to open. The welcome gift for Goldsmiths members is an unattractive branded tote bag, only useful for a one-off visit to the farm shop — whereas comparable establishments usually offer something with a personal or local touch (a bottle of wine, artisanal products, organic bath items, etc.). The only real positive is the location. The hotel is close to the Chatsworth Estate, and they have access to tickets which are often sold out for the general public during the Christmas season. Overall, expectations did not meet reality. If I were booking a modest inn, I would have been perfectly happy. But with the positioning, the pricing, and the Michelin Key label, the experience falls far short.

To be fair the hotel is clean and the staff are excellent. The food is sublime. We booked a modern room online but upon arrival we were allocated a room that was far from modern and didn’t meet our needs. The room called Talman had a shower over the bath, a high four poster bed and was a triumph of style over substance. It had rumbling radiators, was cold. A bathroom door that wouldn’t shut unless locked, a wardrobe light that flashed on and off when opened and a bedside light that did similar. There was no chest of draws and absolutely nowhere to store underwear etc. It’s far from clear but rooms are booked by category and you are allocated a room and so do not necessarily end up with the room you think you’re booking. My partner has five joint replacements and was unable to use the bath. When booking we had booked bed and full board at a high price but on printing off the paperwork it only mentioned bed and breakfast! A meeting with the manager brought the cost down to that shown on the website for bed and breakfast. However, although we received an apology and glasses of champagne as compensation we didn’t receive a reduction in the cost of a room that was not fit for purpose. We made the most of our stay but overall left feeling disappointed and overcharged. Be extremely careful with the website which is misleading and misrepresents what is on offer.

We went for Sunday Lunch and it was so disappointing, didn't want to cause a fuss at the time as it was for a special family lunch and would have ruined the atmosphere. The meat was tough and the staff were so cold and unfriendly - I feel totally let down and sad that we chose here for a very special day.

This attractively decorated hotel has good food and excellent reception staff. The white cloth Gallery restaurant is worth the extra charge although the limited choice may be an issue if you are staying a while. Bar staff are efficient although some haven’t been properly trained. The best staff are the foreigners and women although Georgi was exemplary in the restaurant. Less good is that there are design issues resulting from the age of the building: the shower tends to get the whole bathroom floor wet. We were woken on two separate nights by clomping on the ceiling from a staff bedroom above. If I could change one thing it would be to get rid of the clapped out and unhygienic liquid soap dispensers in the bathrooms. At this price, surely you can offer soap?

Stayed at the cavendish on Friday 7th November for my birthday, what a beautiful hotel, the surrounding area is lovely, had a nice walk to Chatsworth house for the Christmas markets. Had some amazing food, we had dinner on Friday and afternoon tea on the Saturday. My wife is a coeliac and she said it was the best gf afternoon tea she had. Will be returning.

Booked afternoon tea in the conservatory bistro area of the hotel. Great reception on arrival and quickly shown to our table by the window with lovely views across open countryside toward Chatsworth House. Fantastic service from the restaurant staff throughout. Beautiful food and wine served in style a credit to the chef. This was followed by relaxing drink in the cosy adjacent lounge area. Three hours flashed by and we thoroughly enjoyed our time and meal at the hotel and would recommend afternoon tea and will definitely return when in the area.
