The Sun Inn isn't what it once was. There are less, but those there do try to make sure all is well and are friendly and polite. Rebecca is absolute gold in providing exceptional face to face service. We (group of nine) had evening meals some very good and perfectly adequate, others more mediocre. Rooms well furnished, but no longer cleaned during the day while your out. Beers good. The upstairs snug is really nice to sit round a table and while away the time while enjoying a drink.

A friendly and welcoming inn. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a spacious bathroom. There were a few, minor details that could be improved - there was no hand soap in the bathroom and no salt/pepper on the dining room tables. My gin and tonic also had a bit of lemonade in it and the breakfast options were a bit restricted and bland when they arrived. However, it was a thoroughly pleasant stay and I'd be very happy to return.

Our group have been staying in the Sun Inn for several years. We have been customers for around 25 years, some staying, some camping. We block book it now for a few days every May. Sadly, it is rather rundown in general (accommodation and building fabric) Under staffed (when we stayed) Beer selection is underwhelming ( compared to superb in years gone by) We are saddened, as we love the place (The Sun, as was, and Pooley) The food is still pretty good, excepting breakfast, which has declined. We are not a group of whingers and understand the new management are just that. We really hope it gets sorted for our next visit.

Clean and fairly good value. But needs a bit of love as rooms are tired . Breakfast was adequate.. but only coco pops as a choice of cereal, and no marmalade for the toast. A bit haphazard. If you need a bed for the night it is fine… didn’t eat an evening meal at the pub.

Nice 1 night stop, with a great location, and room 1 was excellent, with a large bathroom and comfy bed. Staff fine and enjoyed a bit banter. Never had food , just drinks in the beer garden and later in the evening, in the bar. Free parking in large car park a plus

Nice size room. Very warm and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Staff were lovely but a bit overwhelmed at times. Ideal place to stay for walkers and adventures on or off the lake. Overall a nice place to stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Great stay two night stay in a great location. Paris and her staff were all very helpful and friendly. Food was good and reasonably priced. It's also a popular pub with locals. You will see us again!! Thank you all for making us welcome. Hope to see you soon.

Very run down pub, food tasted like microwave cheap rubbish, very dirty plates tables and pub . Woman with blonde hair very abusive to her staff members which myself and partner heard while eating our 2/10 meal. Waste of money WILL NOT VISIT AGAIN. Been to this pub on many occasions and was wonderful, very dissapointing with how run down and unfriendly staff are this time around.

Comfortable room and really friendly staff. The Sun Inn was in a great location. There seemed to be no organisation, tables full of dirty plates and glasses due to only 2 staff around. Only to find out that they were both working their 1st shift. Queuing out the door at some points to get served. Felt sorry for the staff. Customers came in then left, such a shame. Could be managed better with more staff around.
