We LOVED the property. It was beyond beautiful. Marlyn and the staff were amazingly helpful and accomidating. They arranged private dinners, transport, and were always available to answer questions. We loved the privacy of our villa, the walk to the most spectacular almost private beach. I would only add a one request for beach lounge chairs but the beach towels and blankets provided weee great. Can’t wait to visit again soon! Lastly, it is so special that I almost don’t want to share how magical this paradise is, so it stays private and in developed .

This was an incredible trip! They have the best service, best views and gorgeous beach! The food was spectacular! I didn’t want to leave the property!!! I would definitely recommend this space for a quiet getaway, retreat center or just a vacation!

My wife and I stayed at Hacienda Barrigona for four days for a wedding. The property was beautiful and well-maintained. The food was excellent, compliments to the chefs! The highlight of our stay was the hosts. Alonso, Jeffrey, and Juan Carlos were fantastic—so friendly and professional. They made our stay truly memorable. We really loved our time at Hacienda Barrigona and can't wait to go back!

Hacienda Barrigona-Our new home away from home where the staff is like family and make all of your dreams come true.. Our amazing stay began with the assistance of Brenda in reservations and Alonso the property manager. We experienced significant flight delays effecting our arrival time. Brenda and Alonso kept in touch with us throughout this entire ordeal to make adjustments. We arrived to the property in the dark and in the rain. Upon arrival, Alonso and staff were there to greet us with umbrellas and assistance with unloading the car. Prior to arrival on property, Alonso advised us on the best places to stop for groceries and misc. items on the way in from the airport. This is essential as the stores locally are more limited. Alonso continued to provide recommendations for restaurants in the area, daily activities, and tours. He arranged an ATV ride with ATV Jungle Monkey Tours which we highly recommend. This was indeed our family's favorite excursion with a thrilling ride of a lifetime! Alonso assists with every detail of your stay on a daily basis. When the power went out in town, he provided continued updates. Staff from the property even assisted the power company with the restoration process. As others have mentioned the roads are quite rough, and we banged up the bumper of our rental on a pothole. Alonso even went so far as to fixing the bumper of our rental car so we would not incur additional fees! We are very well traveled and have never experienced staff which go to the great lengths that Alonso and the staff at Hacienda Barrigona provide to ensure you have a perfect stay. The beach is picture perfect and sheer relaxation. You will feel as though you have the beach to yourself. Chairs are provided for your convenience. We brought a backpack ice chest which was perfect for drinks and snacks. We bought a few boogie boards and had a blast riding the waves closer to shore. The surfing was for experienced surfers only due to the size of the waves and riptides. Beginner surf lessons are offered nearby. Be sure to work in some day trips to Samara and Nosara for some super chill surfing and beach vibes. If you are looking for an abundance of wild life and Howler monkeys, you are in luck! They are abundant on property and so much fun to watch. It was pretty amazing to have the howlers come right up to the trees adjacent to the pool and villa. As the property is designed with an open air concept, bring plenty of bug spray and insect bite relief during the rainy season! This is such a unique and special property. Where each villa is secluded, yet you are provided with unrivaled staff assistance, a full housekeeping team, and the most delicious meals you can imagine. Isabel cooks up the most amazing home cooked meals with an appreciation of the local culture. We were spoiled with fresh grilled snapper and mahi mahi on several nights! Book it now!! A truly unique and special place in the world. Three lovely homes (with pools) on hundreds of acres - privacy, stellar views, nature, and a perfect beach. The staff is outstanding, all of them. Alonso, Jeff, Juan Carlo, and the entire kitchen team - all first rate, and lovely people. Meals were locally sourced and superb. The beach is a short stroll, very quiet and clean. And the funky beach towns of Nosara and Samara are less than 30 mins away if you feel like a little more action. Monkeys, coati’s and birds galore fill the grounds. Security is tight and everything is ultra clean and well maintained. A Costa Rican postcard. We are already planning our return.

My partner and I had never been to Costa Rica, so our only ideas of what to expect were from photos. Hacienda Barrigona is a beautiful, incredible property, staffed by the kindest people. We stayed for 5 days with a group that included our friends who were getting married on the property. Everything was wonderful, from the cold towels and air conditioned rooms on arrival to the gorgeous beach and waves of Playa Barrigona. Jeffrey and Alonzo were especially attentive and helpful. Jeff was our man on the spot, going out of his way to solve any need. I’d recommend this place to anyone who craves a few days to relax among nature in Costa Rica!
