Topas Riverside Lodge

This was the most unique hotel I have ever stayed at! It’s located right on the river, and you have to cross a rickety, swinging bridge to get to it. The staff was friendly, and the food was great. We also splurged and tried the herbal bath in the Spa area. I wish we would’ve stayed here a couple nights just to unwind and take in the beautiful scenery.

Very nicely located directly next to a river, although you have to know that the river is always very loud and sensitive sleepers might have trouble. Rooms rather small, but very nicely furnished. Unfortunately, our room smelled a bit musty. But enough comfort for one night. Very good, simple local food. Exceptionally friendly staff. An absolute must and extremely interesting is the guided tour through the village; don't miss this! Attention: don't take many suitcases with you, you have to transport them over a small, swaying suspension bridge to the hotel...! The way from Hanoi here is very long and the last stretch (about an hour) is very tedious and uncomfortable: very bad road and many curves, sometimes the cars cannot cross at all, so the driver has to drive backwards. Not for the faint of heart..

Nice and relaxing stay at the Topas Riverside Lodge. Close to nature and small village. Very kind people constantly trying to help and assist. Beautiful rice fields around you and hidden waterfalls an hours walk away.

This place is a gem. We stayed off season post Covid so there was only a handful of other guests. Very relaxing and off the beaten path away from the crowds of Sapa, nestled in Nam Cam village. The food was plentiful and exceptional. For sure one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam! If you go be sure to take a day hike with a local who can explain the local flora and fauna.

The Riverside lodge was a beautiful experience. With the constant sound of the rushing river it created a serene environment, the service was great, and the food definitely left us full and pleased. I found the meals each night were quite similar, but different tasting. The village is beautiful and the townspeople were lovely, a tip for people planning on staying here, do not give the children any money if they ask for it ( or generally ). It discourages them from going to school and being educated. The back of the place was so beautiful, flowers filled the area, and there were butterflies everywhere. This was an amazing holiday, definitely recommend this!!

Good points: - The river/fountain next to the logde is amazing - Staff was very friendly - The local kids here are nice, welcoming and naive, not money-affected like the kids at sapa center - Bed was comfy Bad points: - The road to hotel are under really bad condition, for those who is carsick, travel by car to the hotel will be a nightmare. - The room has musty smell, considered that the hotel is next to a river, hotel should has a better way to keep the room dry and sustainable - No kids menu - Room quite small
