Beautiful stay, even if rooms are a bit dated compared to the main hotel area

This was my second visit to Soulshine and it was a highlight of our trip to Indonesia. The staff could not have been more attentive and welcoming and very helpful when scheduling excursions and transportation. The food was excellent and the menu was varied enough that we never felt like we were short on choices during our week's stay. The yoga classes were a great way to start off the day. I miss it already.

I came to Bali with the Journey with Donna Yoga Retreat. This was an AMAZING trip. Soulshine Bali is magical. The vibe can't be beat. The staff are fabulous, the food is wonderful and I had the BEST 2 hour massage at the Spa. So many fun spots to relax and enjoy the pools.

Earlier this year, I went to the Soulrocker Retreat at Soulshine. Now, I’m not a wellness guy. I’m not a particularly careful eater. I don’t do yoga. Talking about feelings is generally not on my calendar, ever, especially with a group of complete strangers. I previously believed that for the most part, my favorite music was from a particular genre and ranged from the ‘60s to the ‘70s. Oh, and I’m a card-carrying introvert. So, why did I go? My wife said she was going and I was welcome to join her. I asked if there was a pool. Yes. Do they have beer? Yes. Is it at all possible that they have pizza and/or wings? Yes on both counts. A few months earlier, she took me to see and meet Michael Franti & Spearhead. I liked it…a lot. Okay, I’m in. I figured I’d lounge around the pool, drink beer, alternate pizza/wings and listen to some great, new-to-me music, while she’s off doing the wellness thing. Having said all that, it was truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and will make, again. For me, there were no lows, only highs and higher highs. I had an amazing time even though I’ve never travelled that far…outside of my comfort zone! I did yoga. Every day (Gina Caputo - you're a blast!). I ate more carefully and yet somehow, super-deliciously. I talked about feelings to a bunch of folks that were complete strangers until, in what seemed like the blink of an eye, no longer strangers but so much more than just acquaintances. They were from different places, walks of life, various backgrounds, careers and lifestyles. What was so striking was that given all these differences, there seemed to be just as many, if not more, commonalities. I felt a true sense of community. The resort is amazing, with luxurious accommodations/facilities and . enjoyable activities but, the Soulshine team, the people, are the driving force behind the amazement. I could go on and on but, the end result is Michael and Sara have crafted something very special and I’m better for having experienced it. To spend time with them, their family, friends and this community, is a gift. Give yourself this gift. It’s absolutely worth it and so are you!

Soulshine truly makes your soul shine. I've now stayed here on 4 separate occasions starting in 2019 and it keeps getting better and better. From the restaurant to the spa to the new rooms! And the staff treats everyone like family!! They all contribute to blow me away. And it's an awesome place to come even if you're not a guest.. grab a drink, go down the water slide, get a massage and listen to the music all open to the public!! Yes even the pool!! It’s the best. Can't wait to return again (and again)… also as a solo female traveler you feel like you are never alone and part of a family

Soulshine is our home away from home. We stay at the hotel as often as we can. The customer service is somebody he best we have experienced in the world and we always feel welcomed and treated like we are the most importantly people in the resort. The attention to every detail is incredible and the fun vibes of the rooms, the pool Area and the togetherness lounge make this a truly unique 5 star experience!

We attended the Soulshine Soulrocker retreat in February. The experience was everything we had hoped it would be x100. We set out with an intention: to be rested, practice self-care, indulge, reflect and experience newness. A support network has been built with fellow Soulrockers who also enjoy the music of Michael Franti & Spearhead and want to live a mindful life filled with good vibes. The staff was absolutely amazing! They were attentive, worked hard and truly cared about our community enjoying the retreat. Tremendous pride in their work was evident. Michael & Sara were gracious and generous with their time and talents. The food was scrumptious and our Panorama room offered a marvelous view of the rice fields. Daily yoga with Gina was therapeutic and fun! An unexpected added bonus was taking part in a few guided meditation sessions with Cappy. Book the trip, stay at Soulshine and feel your energy from within expand to greatness.

Soulshine Bali sits in a lovely setting, and promotes well being through its ethos. There is a warm welcome waiting for you. The many staff (staff ratio to the guests when we were staying was high, in anticipation of high season I expect) are always nearby just waiting to help. The rooms are lovely and the sleep quality is good. The sound healing class we booked privately for us 4 was lovely and very apt to us. The food is very good, and the breakfast plentiful. Cons We were a private family group of 4, and felt the resort is better suited and geared up to groups attending their own yoga retreat, and so can access more classes/activities which the resort tailors and arranges for groups. Available daily, as standard, to all resort guests was just one morning yoga class, for a yoga retreat we felt was disappointing. Also as a sound and wellness resort, although guitars and record players in each room is a nice gimmick, our guitar wasn’t tuned, and there were no guitar picks available (we did ask). Also as seasoned travellers we know to sign for our bar bill regularly, but felt the need to make sure we were signing constantly, and the speed we were asked to pay for an extra breakfast for a visiting guest was unnerving and installed an element of mistrust, this in the light of the fact our plans changed pre-arrival and being unable to obtain a refund for the unused night stay, felt an unfair contrast. Finally one small con there is only one small remote smoking spot on the lawn it has no shelter so exposed to the heat and the rain. All in all I would recommend the resort, we were glad we went but we would not return. Tips: We found the Pyramids of Chi in Ubud through recommendation and would like to share that with you, the LSV class is worth traveling to as you are not far by gojek/grab taxi from this resort. (Also if you go to Nusa Penida, stay at Deep Roots Dive and Yoga resort, we would highly recommend this resort).
