Le Cliff Bali

This hotel has a incredible view and is right on Padang Padang beach BUT it's down 6 flights of stairs and the hotel's layout is very steep and dangerous. I didn't enjoy the service as you can't call room service and have to walk all the way down to the bar because you can't order from Reception or the actual Kitchen. The food and drinks were good though. My bathroom opened up to the public beach and was outside of my room so there was no privacy. The rooms look well kept and big on the photos but let me assure you they are mouldy and very small.

The only plus point is the view. Literally everything else in the 2 day stay was, to be frank, quite terrible. The porters helped us with our bags down the stairs but only after making us feel terrible about them doing it. The reception and hotel staff were outright rude and just wanted to usher us to the room as fast as possible to be out of their hair. They then tride to rent us a scooter (old and rickty) with no helmets, which we only discovered after climbing back up to the parking lot! Their kitchen is outrageously disgusting. We never ordered food after seeing it. We had rats running around our room in the middle of the night. The rooms, beds and towels are all old and very musty smelling. All in all...... MASSIVE FAIL.

I booked direct online the day of travel and the reservations team were super easy to deal with, I booked for 4 nights but once we were there I realised 2 nights would be enough and the res team were kind enough to refund the other 2 nights immediately. The amount of stairs I did not think would bother me however not having a scooter and having to walk the stairs and then walk into eating establishments was all too much. We also had to time our visits to and from as the extra high tides stopped access to the property for a couple of hours. The room itself had the most AMAZING view, however going to the bathroom was like going on a boat as the stairs were that steep it was a challenge (let alone in the night) I am sure not all rooms were like this but it is just my experience. All in all worth a visit but just for a night or 2.

This hotel is unlike any I've stayed in before! It is literally built into the cliff, looking out over the ocean My friend and I were a little hesitant to book given some of the reviews, but I'm so glad we did. Yes, it is a little bit of a hike to get to, but in my opinion, it was worth it. However, we are both young and able-bodied, so if you are older, recovering from injury or living with a disability, I would keep that it mind. Even we had trouble with some of the steep stairs leading down to the hotel. The room itself was also quite small, but given that we planned to spend most of our time outside, either on the beach or exploring, I don't think it was a an issue. And the view of the ocean crashing over the rocks right outside the room definitely made up for it! If you're looking for a unique accommodation on your trip to Bali, this is it!

Great experience, Great view. Great service, Great rooms. It is a mission to get to, in a sense there are lots of steps to get to the hotel. Pack light. It’s all part of the experience i guess. I’ll definitely be back one day! Menu was quite variable, and the monkeys hanging about are also a nice touch.

TERRIBLE ACCOMODATION other than the views! Overpriced for what you get. The room was tiny with a double bed and we did not get what we paid for. Towels smelt old and damp. The room and bathroom smell like mold. Blinds in the bathroom were broken so no privacy at all. When booking your reservation ensure that you take pictures of the room you book on the website. You can't access the hotel with the car and you have to take thundreds of stairs to get in and out of the hotel. Then into the room there is another 20 steps. I am quite a fit person but going with luggage up and down is challenging. Also, there is no beach, you have to go through the water to access the beach in the morning while the water level is down otherwise in the afternoon the waves are challenging. The stairs at the hotel are very uneven and challenging around the rooms. We will not be returning

Overpriced for what you get. The room was tiny and I am quite a fit person but those steps to get in and out are next level!!! And very uneven and challenging around the rooms. They also advertised Yoga but there was nothing on offer apart from the room and the restaurant. I will not be returning

Le Cliff has one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen. The rooms are lovely and clean and - as long as you keep an eye one the monkeys and their long fingers - you can enjoy the amazing view from your balcony. I spend a lot of time doing precisely that🤩 It does have steep stairs, but that is part of the charm. Unfortunately I had slipped going down Mt. Batur and injured my leg, which meant I couldn't get around the premises or enjoy the fabulous area, but the management was very understanding and refunded most of my stay - great service and such nice people! When bach in Bali and unaffected physical, I will be back at Le Cliff!
