We stayed at this Hampton Inn the week of 8/28 to be close to the N.Y. State Fair, which we we attended. (IF you stay here and attend the Fair...get directions to the Mall and take the bus service to the fair. It is $1.00 each way (.50 for seniors) and drops you off right at the main gate.) Upon arriving, we were greeted by a very friendly front desk attendant who got us set up with a room immediately....even though we were a couple of hours early for check-in. We found the lobby very bright and spotless and the staff was beyond pleasant and friendly. Upon entering our room, we found it very nice, in excellent shape, and also spotless. The room (king) was large and has a mini-fridge and a microwave oven as well as a decent sized Flat screen TV. Note that there is no actual dresser in the room. Instead, the TV stand has a few pull out wire "bins" (3) that take its place. If you travel with a lot on clothes that are usually folded and placed in drawers, you may want to bring some extra hangars. Bathroom was nice and clean, with no "leftovers" from previous guests, thanks to the wonderful housekeeping staff. There is no tub, but there was a LARGE shower stall with a couple of shelves built in. This shower had the control handle located on the opposite wall of the shower head which was unusual, but a very nice feature. Water was HOT.....and pressure was high. Shampoo and conditioner is mounted in pump bottles inside the stall, and the quality of both was very good. Other amenities, on the sink counter, included soaps, body lotion and mouthwash. Towels were large and fluffy. The bed was very comfortable and the room has a pull down blackout curtain that does a great job of keeping the room dark. Room was very quiet every night (4) that we were there. Housekeeping services (daily) were requested at check in, and our housekeeper did a wonderful job. Free breakfast included eggs, meat, cereal, fruit, waffles, etc. The entire staff went out of their way to be attentive, friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Amy, at the front desk, for her patience each time we required directions to various places in the area. Note that the ENTIRE staff we interacted with was fantastic, and I am sorry we did not get everyone's name to thank individually. You ALL made this stay an outstanding one. The Hilton chain, and the hotel management staff should be very proud of each of you. We look forward to staying at this location during the 2024 N.Y. State Fair.
