Canavida Villas & Resort

The view from the hotel was incredible!! It has a cute pool and amazing view and you can hear howler monkeys! The room was very clean (and cute). I would rate this a 4 for view. However, the drive up for anyone who is not used to mountains was rough. It's a high dirt road in the dark which is when we arrived. I recommend driving in the day to get there. Definitely don't take the other way up/down (the second way that google often recommends but the owners don't) unless you are really comfortable driving on cliffs or dirt roads. We loved the view!! The owners were great and accommodating. It's a great value and good adventure! However, be cautious if you have any hesitation with driving. I'm from a flat area; my husband was used to the mountains. For comparison, Monteverde driving on the highway was worse or comparable depending on location. Totally worth it for the view!! But just be sure you can drive 4-wheel drive!! I couldn't have done it without my husband. But beautiful view and clean!! The only reason this is ranked as a 3 is the drive up.

Canavida is Pure Magic! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The view? Absolutely Unreal-lush jungle, rolling mountains,and a 180-degree ocean panorama. Every morning, we woke up to howler monkeys,toucans, and sometimes even sloths right outside in a tree next to our villa! The wildlife here is incredible, and every moment felt like a dream. The Villas are luxurious, spotless, and perfectly designed to blend with nature. Waking up to the ocean breeze and the sounds of the jungle was Pure Serenity. Our private pool overlooked the most stunning scenery, and every detail in the resort was meticulously maintained. Beyond the beauty, the adventures were next level. We explored hidden waterfalls, hiked through untouched jungle, and took guided night tours where we saw glowing insects and rare wildlife, Whether it was zip-lining, surfing, or simply relaxing with a drink in hand , every experience was Unforgettable. And the host? Absolutely Phenomenal. Friendly, knowledgeable, and always making sure we had the best experience possible. They arranged incredible tours, recommended secret spots, and made us feel truly at home. Canavida is the perfect mix of Luxury Adventure, and pure peace. If You're looking for a place to reconnect with nature, recharge, and experience COSTA RICA at its finest, this is it. A TRUE PARADISE.

Jessica was a wonderful host. She was very helpful and super quick to respond. She gave tons of great recommendations. Jessica offered to do our laundry and it was a quick and reasonable turnaround. She gave clear check in instructions for our late arrival. The beds are very comfortable and the space is spacious with high ceilings. Highly recommend a stay here!

We were lucky to rent a condo in Canavida resort. Beautiful natural setting high in the mountings, lots of wild life around, breathtaking ocean view, fresh air, comfortable temperature, modern buildings, plentiful amenities, great host, ... The list could go on and on. We had a good time with our family there and would love to come back some time in the future.

I had a lovely stay at Canavida, casa colibri. I had a warm welcome from the owner Jess upon arrival. She did everything she could to have me feel at home and taken care of. She had lots of recommendations and useful tips to give me. The villa was splendid. The view, nested above the ocean was just incredible, which you can admire for your pool as well. It was so peaceful, yet so close to local businesses once you drove the road down. There are a few miradors to watch the whales tail beach. They offer some nice amenities like complimentary laundry if you stay a week. I would strongly recommend it.

The place is only 6 km from the main road right next to a all restaurants and supermarkets, but it seems like you are in the pure jungle with 180 degrees views of the oceans. we lived with many toucans and macaws, we even saw a coati. Jessica and Alberto were so helpful and always on site to answer any needs or questions. Canavida have many amazing tours we went whale watching and we saw a mother and her offspring. I truly recommend the place it is by far my favourite in this trip.
