We spent 3N at Acron Waterfront and checked out this morning. I must say that it was a truly remarkable stay. The property is small with about 30 rooms or so, but still very cute and warm in its own way. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, and the entire property is beautifully manicured. The white and blue color scheme makes it very charming to look at, ***** with an all-glass front office. The pool is interesting as its edge faces the river/lagoon with lovely deck chairs. The restaurant is good with a nice speed that will keep you happy. But what took the cake away for us was the presence of some great team members. For me, the outlier and the brightest star was Rouland at the restaurant. He is an amazing bartender who delighted us with his cocktails as well as his friendliness and welcoming demeanour. We will never forget the way he took care of us, and the awesome and creative cocktails he whipped up for me and my wife - Spicy Citrus, Whiskey Sour, Pina Colada and more. His good intent to do something special every time for us and the other guests made him absolutely endearing. No doubt he adds a multiplier effect on the goodness of the hotel. He is a star team member for us, no doubt. Ms Lalita, the GM of the hotel was truly amazing. We couldn’t get our 1st floor garden-facing room on day 1. But she was wonderfully kind and gracious, and had us shifted to a 1st floor room on day row, upgraded to a riverfront view. That gesture added significantly to our stay. We weren’t surprised when she said that 70% guests are repeat visitors. She understand hospitality very well, and it is clear to see her hand behind the fine upkeep of the property and efficiency of the team. We both sincerely enjoyed the few brief but truly warm conversations with her. It was nice to meet up with Owen who was always willing to help, Ashok and Chef Dipam as well who tossed some nice snacks and food for us. The property is very close to Baga beach, so you can actually go there whenever you want. Hammez, Goa’s best nightclub, is just a 2-minute walk away. The infinity pool is great, and so is the jacuzzi, though we couldn’t find the time to enjoy them. There are nice cafés, pubs, market and shacks close by. (The hotel will do well to tone up the toiletries though: the handwash is very local, and so is the soap. There is just one liquid to serve as shampoo and body wash, which is not satisfying at all. The shaving kit had a Laser razor, which is a very poor second to Gillette Presto.) All in all, Acron Waterfront is truly a lovely property at a very apt location with Anjuna, Vagator, Candolim beaches close by. Definitely worth staying once, and maybe a few time more!
