Hotel & Restaurant Rebstock

While the hotel itself was fine, our experience with the restaurant was deeply disappointing and far below the expectations set by the website. The photos show a well-decorated and atmospheric space, but in reality, there were no tablecloths, and the tables were not set. Additionally, only half of the restaurant was open, while the rest of the space was dark and uninviting, which created an unpleasant atmosphere. Although the waiter was very friendly and professional, the owner could certainly learn from him. The owner had no idea how to treat or welcome his guests. Without introducing himself, we were rudely told to move from a table, despite there being plenty of space available. This was unnecessary and disrespectful, showing a complete lack of interest in offering hospitality to his customers. Overall, a poor experience in the restaurant that unfortunately tainted our positive impression of the hotel.

Originally I sought a hotel in Baden Baden, as I was visiting Gaggenau. However weekend hotel stays there were booked many weeks in advance. Casting a wider net, I located hotels in Neuweier. This turned out to be more my style, as it is quieter and more sedate. There are very nice walking trails above the town. The breakfast buffet was superb. The host family must not be from Germany as we both worked a bit in German to converse. I found them to be friendly and helpful. I believe I have found a new place to stay, and would gladly return again. I had one of the best third floor rooms overlooking the main road, with a balcony.

Very disappointing stay, looking on various booking site and the hotels own website it boasted a number of services and amenities which attracted us to this hotel. Upon arriving after a long travel day we were informed that the restaurant was not open and there was no where else local where we could eat. The The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable.

Vanwege familieomstandigheden hebben wij dit jaar gekozen voor een korte vakantie in het Zwarte Woud. Wij konden slechts heel last minute reserveren en in het Zwarte Woud zijn weinig vakantiehuisjes. Zo zijn we met het gezin, 4 personen, in hotel Rebstock in Baden Baden terecht gekomen. Een junior suite, prima kamer, ruim genoeg, heel netjes. De ruime badkamer valt ietwat tegen maar is goed genoeg. Op de bevestiging staat dat het hotel geen ontbijt serveert maar dat kunnen hotelgasten in het nabij gelegen hotel gebruiken. Wat erg jammer is, is dat het hotel alle ruimtes, zoals het restaurant, de stuben en het terras heeft afgesloten. Wellicht hadden we dat moeten begrijpen uit de opmerking dat het hotel geen ontbijt serveert, maar het was ons niet duidelijk voordat wij aankwamen. Met 4 personen op alleen een hotelkamer was het prettig geweest als wij ‘s avonds nog even in een ruimte hadden kunnen zitten, om koffie/thee te drinken en om bijvoorbeeld een spelletje te doen. Nu zijn we aangewezen op alleen de hotelkamer. Dit maakt de vakantie nu toch iets minder comfortabel.
