Ceylon Breeze Sigiriya

The hotel is located in open countryside with views over paddy fields looking towards the Lion Rock Set in landscaped gardens where there is a small pool During my stay some works were being carried out and construction of a further accommodation block is planned for the near future. My room accessed by sandy pathways and a few steps. This had a balcony with the view as described above. Furnishing was traditional dark wood. Space was adequate and benefitted from having a seating area. Enormous bathroom with shower and separate tiled bath. Fridge/TV good wifi. Unfortunately, attention to detail is lacking. Namely leaking A/C, tv and kettle not working. I stayed half board. Fortunately, there is no  buffet dinner. Instead, 3 courses from a la carte menu cooked to order. Very good. Breakfast was a well stocked buffet with a wide selection. Chef on hand to cook eggs and hoppers. Maybe due to forthcoming works the public area, restaurant  reception etc. seemed to be devoid of furniture. Overview - situated in a peaceful rural location the hotel is well placed for visits to Sigirya and other cultural sights. The half board rate paid I thought was very reasonble. But more attention needs to be paid to ensure that everything in guest rooms is in good working order.

Fantastic hotel with a great view. Staff wanted to help with everything. The only disadvantage for us was that there was no cooling available while eating. The dining room does not have air conditioning. Food was delicious.

calm and peaceful environment. rooms serve a spectacular view in the morning and evening. short distance to Sigiriya. only had breakfast which was average. friendly staff. Clean room (however slight stains were there on the bedsheets other than that everything was perfect) Will surely visit again. Good value for money.
