Kleines Zimmer, was wohl vom gebuchten Zimmertyp abhängig war, der Beschreibung so drastisch aber nicht zu entnehmen, wo praktisch nur Bett das Zimmer einnahm und zwischen Bett und Wand am Fußende kam man gerade durch. Keine Becher oder Gläser im Zimmer vorhanden, das Leitungswasser (kein Wasserfläschchen für den Gast) musste man direkt aus der Hand! am Waschbecken trinken. Badezimmer war sauber und völlig ok., aber die wackelige Schiebetür zum Zimmer war unappetitlich alt-fleckig. Der Aufzug war beängstigend alt und man hatte Angst, stecken zu bleiben. Der Frühstücksraum war sehr schön, aber als 2 weitere Gäste nach uns kamen, musste erst neuer Kaffee für sie aufgesetzt werden, weil die Kanne leer war, was dauerte, ferner waren die wenigen Scheiben Salami und Käse von uns schon fast aufgegessen - die armen Gäste nach uns. Am Abend zuvor wollten wir in diesem stimmungsvollen Raum Abendessen einnehmen, was nicht ging, nur in anderem Restaurantraum (auch ok, aber nicht ganz so schön), aber am nächsten Abend sahen wir doch Gäste am großen schönem Kamin im „Frühstücksraum“ dort essen..Das finde ich ohne Erklärung einen schlechten Service. am Vorabend.
Wegen des Aufzugs und fehlendem Komfort im Zimmer würde ich bei nächster Reise woanders buchen trotz der Lage direkt am Papstpalast.

Entrando nella camera abbiamo notato che sulle coperte c’erano dei capelli non nostri. Molto probabilmente saranno stati i capelli di uno dei dipendenti. Non riuscivamo a parlarle con il receptionist perché diceva di non capire tutto quello che dicevamo. In bagno lo sciacquone del water continuava a far rumore e facevamo fatica a dormire. Inoltre il cibo non era di nostro gradimento: l’hotel ci ha avvisato che il menù era stato mandato alla scuola ma non è arrivato niente. Il terzo giorno la seconda portata ,composta da pesce e riso, era piccante e nel pesce c’erano ancora tutte le lische con le quali abbiamo rischiato di soffocare.

Una esperienza scadente. Arrivati, troviamo una reception piccola, disordinata, in un evidente stato di abbandono. Ci viene assegnata una camera con una vista bellissima (unica nota positiva) ma piena di polvere, diverse luci fulminate, pavimento sporco, praticamente un unico ambiente con bagno dentro la stanza (nessuna possibilità di isolare bagno e zona letto), climatizzatore super rumoroso, ristorante malandato (fatta colazione solo il primo giorno) e poco curato (piante secche, disordine ovunque, frigoriferi in mezzo alla zona di passaggio, patate a terra), wifi che non funziona dentro la stanza (segnalato ma senza aver risolto) ,no frigo,no cassaforte. Non ritorneremo. Mi spiace, consiglio una adeguata ristrutturazione perché il sito ha enormi potenzialità.

The hotel is in a great location in the heart of the old city, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. The hot water for the shower ran out before 8 am. The breakfast offers hot items apparently when it first opens up. Although we were there for breakfast an hour before it closed, none of the warm offerings were available. In fact, we had to even ask for bread. There was a tv in our room, but no remote to operate it. We asked the front desk for one and were told they didn’t have one. I could go on, but I think you get the point.

Very convenient location and offers discount at the parking underneath the square. Food at the restaurant was good as well. Not the most modern of the hotels, but clean. Pleasant and helpful service.

A more uncomfortable bed you couldn't wish to encounter, like sleeping on a board! For those of us with mobility issues: the shower unit posed a challenge. A very small unit, that was not covered, so the area around it got wet. The unit of the shower was not fitted properly, and was bouncy and so, with no handrails - alas, common in France - it was a precarious if you have unsteady feet. Well positioned, but I would not stay here again.

wrong room - no heating - no cleaning on top of this there was no willingness to make things better after a number of kind complains. it is clear they take advantage of the great position to just offer a terrible service

I was stranded in Marseilles this past June, missed my connecting train to Toulouse. All train seats sold out that day for Toulouse and 2 days for Paris. Rooms were sold out in Marseilles, except for 3, ranging from €600 to €3600, so I had to leave. Chose Avignon and got one of the last seats on the train. Saw Palais du Papes online but unable to book because of internet problems, so I took a leap of faith and went there. From the outside it was a bit disappointing but once inside I was greeted by the kindest young man, Herkmit (sorry if his name is misspelled) who helped me get settled in and assisted me with booking a train to Paris. He took such good care of me, and all of his guests, and I cannot say enough good things about him. My room was very clean and large, the largest hotel room I’ve ever been in, and I had a lovely view of the Palais. I’m a senior woman who traveled solo and I have never experienced such kindness and respect as I had received from the French people. And it was especially true in Avignon. Thank you Herkmit.

A éviter Nous prenons un magret de canard à 21 euros et surprise dans l’assiette quatre petits morceaux de viande avec de la ratatouille et un peu de purée Heureusement que le pain était bon!!!!!!! Et le service une vraie catastrophe Une honte!!!
