The Avalon Hotel in Catalina Island

This small hotel was delightful, beautifully furnished with so much attention to detail. There is lovely tile work inside and out, a nice garden patio with a koi pond where breakfast is served, a rooftop lounge where you can sit and relax, and several books to read in the room. They provide taxi vouchers both coming and going and were nice about helping us with our luggage. We had a balcony with a wooden slider and two chairs that looked out over the harbor. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.. I highly recommend this hotel in Avalon.

This was such a nice, relaxing hotel. Highly recommend! Very clean; the first thing my friend and I said when we walked in was 'wow, the bathroom is so clean.' The hotel provided continental breakfast with an array of food options. Front desk was very friendly (thank you, Karina!). Great location; it's perfectly situated so that everything (shops, restaurants...) was within walking distance. We stayed on the second floor with the garden view. Keep in mind, we used the stairs to get to our room and the garden view has the lovely sound of the fountain that you can hear with the windows open. Our room was ready about an hour early before check-in, which was very convenient!

This place is so clean and beautiful. It feels like home, the moment you walk into it. The staffs are amazing. They are very friendly, welcoming and supportive. The owners took time to make this place unique and comfortable. They carefully thought of the most basic and important needs of mankind and equipped them into their hotel. You will not lack or miss anything, while you are staying here. There are books in the rooms to read, apart from the television. The beds and beddings are very comfortable. The bathroom is very clean. There is always coffee and tea at the Lobby and continental breakfast in the mornings. There is a rooftop terrace with amazing views. Above all, my stay there was awesome.

This is a lovely boutique hotel in the center of Avalon. The rooms have a new and fresh look, and a Craftsman design. They either overlook the patio or have a porch with a view of the bay. There is a rooftop patio as well, with a stunning view. In addition, the staff is wonderful. In particular I want to mention Evelyn and Corrina (sp?). They were on top of everything. They had answers to all our questions and were beyond personable. They arranged taxis. They recommended eateries and activities. Wish I could have stayed longer. I wonder how I could life in SoCal for 70 years and this was my first trip to the island. By the way, the weather can be pretty good in February, this is California after all. In February you kind of have the place to yourself. My highlight was dancing with my wife on the circular floor of the ballroom at the Avalon ******. (It is not a ******** ****** and there was no band.) But, it gave you feeling of being there in the Big Band era even though the music was only in our hearts. (O.K. That was a bit much.)

Loved our stay at the Avalon Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located, the staff is warm and inviting, the rooms beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We started each morning with breakfast on the back patio and after adventuring all day, we would come back and enjoy coffee and tea by the fire pit. I highly recommend staying at Avalon Hotel.

Beautiful little hotel staff was super friendly very accommodating their little courtyard in the back very cute and quaint great little breakfast options room was very clean. Bathrooms were remodeled and very clean. Our only complaint would probably be some new pillows, and the bed was probably a little too soft for our liking other than that I would definitely still stay there again.
