The Fern Residency Aurangabad - Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar

The Fern Residency met our needs but was nothing special. We arrived late at night and were immediately assigned a room on the fourth floor. It was fairly large and had a king bed and a good bathroom with shower. We used the laundry service and it was returned as soon as we called for it, and was reasonably priced. We slept fairly well and the housekeeping service did a good job. What we did not like was how many tour groups use the hotel. As a couple traveling alone, we enjoy avoiding crowds. But on three occasions we were overwhelmed in the lobby or restaurant by a coach load of tourists. For example, we were told breakfast begins at 7 and arrived then only to find the dining room heaving with Japanese and Thai tourists already filling most tables. On our second night another group was eating before an evening flight. And the lobby was filled with piles of group luggage on two occasions. This is a fairly recent hotel, nothing special or unique. Staff at the desk were good. Aurangabad itself lacks any charm. For us, the only reason to go is for the Ajanta and Ellora Caves and for Bibi Ka Maqbara. See separate reviews.

This was one of best decisions made by staying at. Fern. AURANGABAD. While travelling in India . From the moment we checked in till we checked out everything was flawless and smooth. Wifi Great Check in was taken care of by. Ms. Aditi and. Mr. Digambar On day 1 . Check out was ease with. Ms. Sakshi. And. Mr. Digambar All of them made our life easy.. Rooms. Over. Size and with. Sofa . Spotlessly clean . Bathroom very good size , water pressure excellent and 24/7. Hot water . We had dinner all 3 days and were not disappointed. As a matter of fact chef came and asked how we want food prepared . Being allergic to. Cream and excess oil he made sure every detailed was taken care of . HOST. MS PP and on last day Ms. ARPITA welcomed us with a smile at the entrance of restaurant. Food was served by. Ms. DUHI, MS. RUTH and the team. DUHI specially went over and beyond . In the morning during breakfast both ladies did excellent job in preparing freshly brewed coffee . There was lots of variety of food choice from. Fresh fruits , juices, northern to southern food choice , continental, cereal etc etc.. There were few choices for non vegetarians as well. There was live counter for. Uttapam, dosa, omelette. Every one working in the restaurant did fantastic job . It was overall managed by. Mr. Gavin. We requested him few vegetarian items off the menu if could be done. He definitely obliged. I will certainly recommend this place to any one coming to. AURANGABAD. This hotel is about 45 minutes from. Ellora caves . As and when I return I will definitely stay here and enjoy their flowless hospitality. We had booked through. Agoda and including breakfast Thank you team. Fern AURANGABAD to make our stay a memorable one . This hotel offers great value for money .

The rooms are spacious, at least in the Winter Green area. Excellent shower. Very comfortable bed. Fridge and a safe. Good WiFi. Breakfast is very good and varied. Dinner is also good with choice of a buffet or à la carte. The swimming pool is indoor and the water is freezing, but very refreshing. Towels are provided. Reasonably priced, it’s a good choice for a busy city.

We stayed here 2 nights. We'd booked the Winter Green room but got upgraded to the Fern Club room. A suite? Sweet! It had a very comfortable bed. The toiletries were great. There were no hooks to hang our clothes, though, as the bathroom had a sliding door. The breakfast buffet was the most memorable point about the hotel for us. The restaurant's tasteful decor complemented the delectable food and polite and attentive service. Also, the coffee was excellent and set us up for long excursions in Ajanta and Ellora. Plus, the hotel is not stingy with water bottles, which is a huge plus, from our perspective.

Big chain hotels are not my favourites but it was hard to find nice accommodation in Aurangabad; we settled for Fern -judging by the reviews- and we were really pleased: very spacious room and comfortable bed, shower in a cubicle with hot water and good pressure, friendly and professional staff, powerful aircon, easy to find, good buffet breakfast, efficient housekeeping. They gave us packed breakfasts perfectly on time (even at 5 am), and it was filling and had a variety of snacks. After exhausting days in the caves it was great to come back here and get good service, good food, good rest.
