Ero preoccupata per le terribili recensioni, ma in realtà questo posto è ok. Le camere sono essenziali, il bagno sarebbe da rivedere, ma tutto sommato erano ok e ho visto di molto peggio. La cucina al roof top è enorme e super attrezzata, la miglior cucina mai avuta in ostello. La reception non è particolarmente cordiale e nemmeno aiuta granché, la grande pecca sono loro. La posizione top, super centrale.

Edificio dell'ostello ben conservato e bello; Check in 24H (solo regolare i dettagli, come la password della porta e dove sarà la chiave con il team via e-mail); Parlando in team, personale decollato e pratica; Quarta bassa, comfortabile con buona disposizione delle beliche; Capsula di privacy funzionale; Bagni puliti; Soffietto letto onesti; Bucataria/studio molto buono, con spazio per lavastoviglie, frigorifero, mobili e tappeti di qualità; Non dimenticate di portare il vostro adattatore di togliere il mondo;

Stavo qui per 5 notti nel mio alloggio pre-turismo. Questo hotel ha vissuto fino alla sua reputazione. Offre un buon valore per i soldi. Con la sua posizione centrale con una pietra gettata nella strumentazione e nella busta di CBD, è un rifugio senza frills per coloro che non possono permettersi o non vogliono spendere grande su un letto. Le strutture sono buone. La cucina è spaziosa. Solo le svantaggi sono piccole camere e la mancanza di tovaglioli di carta e lavatrice di mano in cucina. Le bocche e i cutter sono limitati, ma immagino con questo tipo di soldi che paghi non dovresti essere troppo incassati. Dopo tutto, otterrai quello che paghi. Il personale è amichevole. Ho controllato senza reazioni avverse.

It’s pretty much a backpacker’s hostel. Once that’s realized, expectations are adjusted accordingly. Let’s get the negatives out of the way: - must check out by 10 AM - there’s no air conditioning. There are fans, but at night, in summer, the rooms are uncomfortably warm. Everything else is positive. The location I felt was excellent. 20 minutes walk to the CBD; 30 minutes to the ferry terminal. You are right at Ponsonby, which is a main street for restaurants and coffee shops. There is an excellent supermarket one block away ( 5 minutes walk ). The lodge is very clean, and there’s a good community kitchen, where you can store your food as well as cook. I opted to pay + $20 per night extra for a private bath, but the hostel offers many bathrooms with showers. There are 2 washing machines and 1 dryer, each requiring NZD 6. The airport shuttle - Skydrive - operates from the Sky tower, a 20 minute walk. Here are the directions from the Sky Tower, which is on Hobson Street. Take Hobson for about 3 blocks, to Pitt Street. Go left on Pitt. Just one block on Pitt, on your right, you see a big, blue sign that reads “BECA”. After only one block on Pitt, with Beca Company on the right, that is Hopetoun Street. Go to the right. You will go up a bridge, with the expressway beneath you. As soon as you cross the bridge, you pass a girl’s grammar school, and Verandahs Lodge is clearly marked on the right, about the 4th building. The airport shuttle runs every 30 minutes, costs NZD 18 ( 12.50 for seniors ), and you pay driver, but only credit cards are accepted.

L ostello è carino anche se caro e un po' decentrato. Le aree comuni sono molto belline, ma il fatto che non abbia i bagni per entrambi i sessi su ogni piano è una vera scomodità. Ogni piano poi ha una cucina ma sono microscopiche ed è davvero dura usarla....inoltre in reception, a parte Kase che è super efficiente, gli altri sono un po' fatti e messi li, poco svegli e poco di aiuto.... può migliorare!

Io sono rimasto in otto letti di una donna e ho avuto un'esperienza generale positiva, la stanza era molto protetta dal rumore esterno e sono stati considerati compagni di stanza. I bagni sono un po' incredibili e non c'è molto spazio per tutti, ma le camere da bagno condivise sono pulite, docce buone e cucina utilizzabile. Wi-Fi è anche abbastanza buono per video e film. L'area circostante è un po' intimidente dopo l'oscurità e l'ostello è bloccato su una scala casuale di cemento. In sostanza, è un semplice ostello senza fritte che fa quello che dice sul tin e è in una buona posizione centrale.

Clean and comfy, the kitchen was big enough for everyone and the staff were lovely. Good value for money. Only downside was that the room didn't have windows but a fan was provided so dealt with well

I will try to be as constructive as possible with my review, but before all that, I will say this was probably the worst hostel I have ever stayed in! If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have stayed in many hostels around the world, and I understand that not all hostels are perfect. You get what you pay for with hostels. But I've never stayed in a hostel so bad that I checked out 2 days early! The roof of the rooms was absolutely disgusting to look at. The ensuite bathroom was filthy as well. I arrived late in the evening on my 1st night, and there wasn't even toilet paper in the bathroom! I had 2 horrible nights of sleep on a horrible mattress, a wafer thin pillow, and a blanket that you wouldn't throw over the back of a couch! On my last night, I actually had to wear a hoodie to keep warm! And when you climbed into the top bunk, if there wasn't somebody lying in the bottom bunk, the bunk beds nearly leaned over! Not exactly safe! You couldn't relax on the bed either it was so uncomfortable! There is no breakfast provided! At the very least, the most basic of hostels will provide cereal and toast! Not here, unfortunately. There are only plugs on the bottom half of the rooms as well, which means you have to plug your devices into a plug on the floor in the middle of the room! In a room full of strangers! And while there are lockers available, they're light, so if someone wanted to pick it up and steal it, they could. A few tips for this hostel: 1: Comfortable mattresses, proper sheets and duvets, and proper pillows. 2: Deep clean the rooms every so often. 3: Charging points that are easily accessible to people on top and bottom bunks. 4: No lights out at 10 pm! While this didn't affect me as I stayed away from the hostel as long as possible until I wanted to go to bed, lights out at 10pm is a load of b******s! Remember, it's a room full of adults. 5: Clean the communal bathrooms and showers! They weren't exactly the cleanest places in the world. Do a deep clean on them every so often. And fix some of the doors on the communal toilets because some of them don't lock. 0/10 guys, unfortunately. This place really needs to get its act together.
