The Gleneagles Hotel

My recent stay at Gleneagles was meant to be a special celebration for my 40th birthday — a milestone occasion that I had looked forward to for months — but unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected or hoped for. What should have been a memorable and joyful occasion turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. I chose your hotel specifically because I believed it would provide a high standard of service and care appropriate for such an important celebration, but that trust was misplaced. From the moment I arrived, several issues made my stay stressful and unpleasant. On arrival to the room which had a view over the delivery car park I called reception to enquire of any other rooms with a different view may be available, I was presented with… that’s the the of room you’ve paid for. Whilst I was left shocked I understood very clearly it wasn’t an option and we went about our day. We familiarised ourselves with our environment and headed to the pool facilities. After leaving the sauna I felt light headed and needed some sugar so my partner asked the member of staff were he could go and get me a sugary drink. She told him the Garden Cafe. He asked where he would get a robe and slippers to he told his room. However in the room is states not to remove the robes and you will be provided with them at the spa. My partner wall then had to walk into the Garden Cafe on swim shorts and bare feet to get me a drink. Moving on to dinner, we ate in the Birnam, we were presented with a complimentary drink and starter as a gesture after the feedback we provided. My main was served cold, whilst my partners was piping hot. Mine was replaced however by this time my partner had finished his meal. The manager dealt with this well and did not charge for my meal. The cherry on the cake, I had taken a bottle of Dom Perignon gifted to me from a relative for my celebration. On leaving the hotel the following day I identified the bottle was missing. We approached the reception to enquire where they told us housekeeping removed it. Whilst I still struggle to understand why when it wasn’t in the bin was it removed I was more shocked by the way in which the manner was dealt with. I asked to speak to the manager who explained I should have left a note stating I didn’t want it removed. Only when I addressed how upset I was at how this was being dealt with by which I mean no empathy and being told the hotel is now a victim of its own success did I manage to finally have them locate the missing bottle. When addressing my concerns and feedback I was presented with a lack of professionalism and care shown by staff, which fell far below the standards the hotel claims to uphold. All in all, it’s safe to say I’ve been left with poor memories and an experience for my milestone birthday and a sense of you booked a ‘cheap room, so you’ll be treated cheap’ When addressing my concerns and feedback I was presented with a lack of professionalism and care

My husband and I visited Gleneagles hotel I. December 2024 with our 3 year old daughter. We stayed in the Mannochmore Suite. It had been a bucket list dream to have a family stay at Gleneagles when it was all decked out for Christmas. It was the most magical stage imaginable. Our daughter particularly loved having her very own Christmas tree in her room and the view out over the hotel of all of the Christmas lights. The Christmas decorations really were something else, they made the whole place feel totally magical. The activities for children and the onsite childcare zone are amazing. I was nervous about leaving our daughter in the children’s club but she loved every minute of it. We also booked her in for a driving lesson in the mini Landrover experience. The instructor was fantastic, has nerves of steel and deserves a pay rise! We ate at a number of the restaurants and ordered room service and all of the food was wonderful and everyone was great at catering for our fussy eater and also adapting dishes. Every restaurant had kids activities too. We had drinks in the bar one evening which were beautifully presented. All in all such a magical trip that my daughter is still talking about. Seeing her roam around the hotel in her tiny dressing gown and stopping to admire all of the Christmas trees and decorations was something I will cherish forever.

Absolute luxury stay here could not be anymore accommodating , so much to see & do from shopping to spa & relaxing treatments , perfect for the golfers and ladies can relax in 5 star luxury so many bars & restaurants to choose from & beautiful grounds to walk around.

The whole experience of staying at Gleneagles cannot be fully described it is an experience to cherish. I first stayed at Gleneagles when I was 21 and had several of my friends join me. This time 60 years on was special as I was joined by my daughters and their families

We had a fantastic stay at Gleneagles with our young family (2 and 4 year olds) and can’t recommend it enough! The hotel is an easy drive from the airport (we rented a car and had no trouble with parking right on site), which made arrival stress-free. One of the highlights for us was the wide open lawn - perfect for letting the kids run around and enjoy the sunshine (we got so lucky with the weather!). The Little Glen nursery room was a huge bonus - such a thoughtful, family-friendly feature where we could drop the kids for a bit of fun while we relaxed or had a quiet meal. Everything at Gleneagles was spotlessly clean, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. The breakfast spread was unreal, and the room service was just as impressive - definitely not your typical hotel food. The location also made it really easy to take day trips to explore nearby towns and countryside. We were able to enjoy the hotel and still see a lot of Scotland. Can’t wait to return someday!
