I had booked a room for 2 nights, in Thon Hotel Vettre, from 8th to 10th August. Sadly, because off the very windy conditions, on the august 8th, the ferry from Denmark to Norway was cancelled, so we where not able to get to Norway. I assumed, since this was an unwillingly cancellation, there would be no trouble at all to get a refund, but sadly it wasn’t so. I was told, by the receptionist at Thon hotel Vettre, to contact my travel insurance agency, and there was nothing they could do to help. The amount in question, is only little over 3000 nok, quite the amount for me, but I can’t image it would hurt a hotel chain with over 80 hotels. The answer I got from their customer support (a week after they received my email), was that according to their policies, they could not give give me a refund. The lack of customer service is ridiculous!! I don’t recommend booking a room in any of their hotels, if you do, pray you don’t need to use their customer support service’s.
