We spent 3 nights , 2 days in this lovely retreat about half an hour out of Minca . I think we had the nicest room with a spacious balcony overlooking the nearby waterfall, with hummingbirds always feeding and sweeping views of the mountains. It’s a small hotel and the casual restaurant area is very communal and friendly. Be aware it’s a short but steep walk from the rooms to this area and in general this area is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues . The staff were friendly and helpful . A bonus was an inexpensive washing service , and there were lots of excellent vegetarian food options . Would definitely have given it 5 stars if there was a small swimming pool which would enhance the relaxing a**osphere and allow you to cool off after doing the surrounding hikes .

Be aware that the hotel is not accessible by car or small SUV. You have to park in Minca and take from there a big 4x4 taxi (30 min ride) or a moto taxi (20 min) to reach the hotel.

The grounds are really beautiful and it was fun watching the peacocks and parrots and visiting the animals in the reserve. Although it’s up in the hills, taking the mototaxi was an adventure in itself and it was a pleasant and non-strenuous walk up from Minca. The staff were pretty friendly and spoke very good English and the Wi-Fi was extremely fast.
As for the downsides, whilst the breakfast was quite nice we found the dinner to be a disappoin**ent and ended up eating a late lunch in Minca town for most of our stay. There are also some serious bug issues in some of the rooms - we were initially put in a room where the doors weren’t properly sealed and it made the night extremely uncomfortable and there were probably 100 bugs the size of my thumb in the room by the morning. The staff were happy to change us to a different room where we had no issues but they did give another guest our room (we chatted to her one morning and she also mentioned the bug issues). They really need to fix this issue and in the meantime block out the room because it was truly disgusting.

10/10 would stay again. Great service, friendly staff. Pack light and take a motorcycle taxi to the property or hire a 4x4. Either way it is an adventure every step of the way.

Exceeded expectations! Great service from friendly and very welcoming staff. Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to disconnect and relax in the most beautiful part of Minca!

Then view from the rooms is exceptional and they feed fruit on feeders to the birds which is a great touch - rooms were suberb but could use a fan.

Please, DON’T GO HERE!! Today we visited en we got shocked. The animals are in very very small cages en look very depressed, especially the monkeys. They do not take good care for the animals and we even saw an employee hit the birds. Once arrived we left five minutes later because if you stay you are a part of the animal abuse. PLEASE DONT GO.
