Hostal Port Fornells

Like many of the guests here we are walking the Cami de Cavalls trail around Menorca and the company we used, booked us 2 nights in this B&B Daniel on reception was charming and spoke good English, although his tech was a little slow checking us in, we were given our key and had breakfast explained to us. The room was adequate and whilst the furnishings are almost a 70’s throwback, the twin beds were very comfy in our ground floor room that also had a balcony and small terrace. The air conditioning worked beautifully but as it is right above one bed meant one of us had cold air blown directly on our face all night.. We were surprised to have a fridge so that was used to chill our water packs for the mornings for walking .. Breakfast.. well, firstly, we were told it was orange juice but we’re still not convinced and so just avoided it on our 2nd morning.. we had coffees that were made on request but again.. not the best I’m afraid.. cold choices were cooked meats like ham and salami and cheese.. three cereals with cold milk, plenty of bread and large toasting machine and the piece de resistance.. tinned fruit with choice of yogurt… together with a selection of pastries.. but for the money.. it was just fine.. We even managed a swim in the pool that is weirdly over the not busy single track road.. the pool was cold, but very clean, but NO shade.. As for the hotel cleanliness, it was spotless! Would we come back? Perhaps not out of choice but is somewhere perfectly adequate for what we needed Last thing, the bathroom was fine, no bath but nice enough shower

Hemos estado 2 noches. El hostal es familiar, todos súper amables. Nos prepararon una cena sencilla: la tortilla española riquísima. Y para el día siguiente teníamos dos bocadillos para llevar: se notaba que estaban hechos con cariño. Estamos haciendo el Camí de Cavalls y hemos descansado estupendamente, con baño en la piscina incluida.

Ma chambre donnait côté rue, face à l unique route qui mène à Fornell’s. Beaucoup de circulation nuit et jour, un bruit infernal…. L hôtel est vieillot, du coup pas d insonorisation, on attend les voisins ronfler ! La climatisation est très bruyante. Si vous choisissez cet hôtel pour vous reposer, il faut demander une chambre côté jardin ! Sinon hôtel à FUIR ABSOLUMENT !!!! La patronne n était pas très aimable, lorsque j ai demandé à changer de chambre, elle ne l a d’ailleurs pas fait. Le petit déjeuner est très basique et banal ! Point positif, une belle piscine. Je déconseille vivement cet hôtel.

Estuvimos de paso haciendo ruta andando y para nosotras lo más importante era el descanso y la comida (desayuno). Lo primero lo salvamos porque cuando vas cansado no necesitas mucho más que una cama… si le sumaras una tele para conciliar el sueño sería genial pero ahí no hay. Sin embargo el desayuno es pésimo. Embutido de bajísima calidad, fruta extremadamente madura y poco más. Para rematarlo pedimos un bocadillo para llevar y ha sido el más caro y menos bueno de nuestra estancia de 5 días en la isla. Esta bien ubicado, abre fuera de temporada… pues cúrratelo un poco… da la sesación que “todo vale” porque en verano se debe llenar sin esfuerzo, pues señores les aplaudimos pero no volveremos ni lo recomendaremos jamás. Solo de entrar da la sensación que te atienden con pereza… pues cierra y descansarás! Que pena!
