My wife is always saying that we don't have to spend a lot of money on hotels when we travel so I decided to take her advice on this solo trip to see my grandma. I've stayed at this Motel 6 prior, but it's been a good 25 years since my last visit. (My standards have gone up since then) Gave it a shot and checked in. Got to the room and noticed an odd scent but I figured that it's what I have to accept if I wanna save a few bucks. No worries. Room was fairly clean for a budget motel. The problem came at 1:30am. As I was sleeping peacefully, I was woken up to the sound of rustling. I quickly remembered that I placed my brand new, unopened bag of Goldfish crackers on the desk next to the bed. (I love snacking on Goldfish crackers while traveling and was looking forward to having some the next day) I flipped over, turned the light on and heard the sound of a startled mouse trying to find cover. Moved a few things around and sure enough, Mr. Jangles was chillin' behind the phone. I love mice. Had them as pets when I was growing up. I just don't want to share a motel room with them, especially if they're not gonna have the courtesy to ask before helping themselves to my Goldfish crackers at 1:30 in the freakin' morning. I packed up, went to the front desk, got a refund, and high tailed it out of there. I was gonna do the decent thing and catch/release the mouse outside but Stuart Little disappeared into the night on his own. He'll be back, I'm sure. I left the bag of Goldfish crackers on the desk. My advice if you decide to stay here? Bring Tom so that you don't have to deal with Jerry. Edited to add: Management has been great and everyone within this motel has been super friendly. Hopefully, this was a first floor problem that they can get taken care of. If it wasn't for the mouse, it would have been a decent enough stay.
