Great food great room nice clean atmosphere I'd definitely go again for the price! I'd recommend going with at least one or two whiggers.

I stayed at the Howard Johnson hotel by Wyndham in Appleton, Wisconsin from 4/17/25 to 4/21/25. On Friday 4/18/25 at around 7 am, I was eating breakfast in the breakfast room. The front desk clerk scolded me for having my ice bucket in the breakfast room and said I should put it in my room. I could totally understand this if the bucket had ice or water in it since it could cause a mess, but my bucket was totally empty. I had bursitis in my knee and could barely walk, so I planned on stopping by the ice machine after I ate breakfast in order to get ice so I didn't have to walk any more than necessary. Meanwhile, another table of guests was blasting their music really loud for the whole room to hear and the front desk clerk didn't ask them to turn their music down or anything. On Saturday 4/19/25 at around 1:10 am, I was rudely awakened by a call from the front desk to my room phone. The front desk clerk claimed that a man was trying to break into my room (room #104) through the window. I looked outside and saw no one outside at all. I went to the front desk and no one was there, so I had to press 0 from the front desk phone sitting out on the desk in order to get someone to talk to me. The front desk clerk appeared and I asked him why he woke me up and lied to me, and he said he meant to call room #106, not room #104. No apology was given to me or anything. At the time, I was in excruciating pain because of bursitis in my left knee and could barely walk, so I was very upset about being woken up with a made-up story about some man trying to break into my room. Not only that, but why would the front desk call me (a woman in my 40's staying in the room all by myself) about a crime taking place? Why wouldn't he call the police about this immediately if a man was supposedly trying to break into my room? By the way, I did ask him to call the cops right when he called my room, and the front desk clerk said "No" and hung up on me. I've been a loyal Wyndham Rewards member since 2021 and this has really destroyed my trust in the Wyndham brand. I attempted to resolve this via email before writing a bad review, but Wyndham Rewards took 3 days to even reply to me in the first place, and when they did finally reply, they just gave a generic, canned response and were completely unhelpful. It is a clean, older but fairly well maintained motel. Beds were fine. Motel neighborhood surroundings are poor. Staff member had to be called on desk phone but he responded quickly and was very helpful. Breakfast was okay but mostly carbs. I would stay there again.

I will never stay here again, and would not recommend it to anyone. It was not clean, stairs were muddy, the room smelled TERRIBLY bad, and the bedding had a bad odor too (like sweaty socks....). Opened the window to air it out and cool the room off a bit as it was very warm and I was called by the front desk and told I could not have the window open (even though I did not have the heat on...).

The service was horrible. Very rude. Disrespectful to our teenagers. No pool available but advertising saying they have a pool. Not guest fault. Only 2 bath towels and 1 wash cloth in the room. When asked for more towels they were rude about it and made us wait for more.
