We look forward to sharing our dream home and community with you. We are literally one block from town and secluded on a quiet section of Sherman Avenue. The stairs leading into town are 100 yards away.Start your day with an adventure, with coffee in bed or within a couple of blocks you'll have several cafes to chose from. After coffee, its a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. You'll also want to check out the shops and have some wine or beer at the many wine tasting bars and brew pubs. Return to freshen up for dinner then walk back down and enjoy our local PNW cuisine. No problem if you get a little tipsy. Its an easy walk home.No expense was spared in building our home and your studio. You'll sleep soundly on a new Parklane king-size bed that actually splits into two twins. Just ask for us to split them. Its no problem. The space is open, airy and partially sub-terrain. You'll like how it naturally maintains a pleasant temperature. Even though it is set back into the hillside you are elevated from the road providing a better view and sense of privacy.You have your own private entrance and completely separate living quarters. You are not sharing your space with us.Jon loves to wing, kite, road bike, mountain bike, hike, dirt bike, snowmobile, snowboard, alpine ski, cross country ski, snowshoe, SUP and kayak. Nancy is learning how to wing, does yoga every day, road bikes, hikes, cross country skis, snowshoes, kayak's and SUP's.Just let us know what you'd like to do and what your interests are. We'll let you know where to go and provide some local tips.We have a secret breezeway for you to store your bikes, boards, etc., and a great place to let your wetsuits hang dry. We've also got a hot and cold water spigot out front to hose anything off.We've been Hood River residents since 1993. Dining area comfortably accommodates 6 with a 4 place dining room table and two place bar counter with bar stools. In addition, the front area patio/court yard has a dining table that seats 4, perfect for those summer nights! The attached garage keeps your vehicle cool in summer and warm and dry in winter. The garage has secure storage space for all your sports equipment, too. That being said, if you are in need, there is an additional 4 bedroom home available for rent attached to this apartment, perfect for those larger parties! Regardless of whether it's the apartment you need or both units, this is an excellent home base for your Hood River adventures! Stay here for an unforgettable experience. A five minute walk takes you to shops for kiteboarding, windsurfing, kayaking, biking, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, or apparel for trekking. In this mix of shops are restaurants, bars, theaters, pubs and coffee shops. No need to drive. Outdoor recreation is close. Just three minutes in your vehicle gets you to water sports like kiteboarding, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, or just a swim at the Event Center. If you like boating, the marina is right next door. Hike or bike on one of the many trails nearby. To get a little space from all this action, Interstate-84 is nearby that will take you east to The Dalles, or west to Cascade Locks and the National Scenic Area of the Columbia River Gorge. Highway 35 will take you south on a 45 minute drive through the orchards of Hood River Valley to Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort and on to the historic Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. Or take the Hood River Bridge north to Washington and the town of White Salmon.
