Hotel in zona Prachinathissa Pabbatha, Anuradhapura

By far the best room I had in Sri Lanka! The room was so appealing, I felt very comfortable. Clean, everything worked. A small problem in the bathroom was fixed immediately. Less than a five minute walk to a good, but very reasonably priced restaurant.

酒店位於阿努拉德普勒，隔着一個大湖可以望見那些美麗的佛塔遺址。酒店的環境還挺漂亮，游泳池也很好。就是自助早餐的供應不太穩定，我倆一連住了4晚，有兩天早餐是自助早餐，有兩天是定食。酒店給出的解釋是因為旅遊大巴離開了，人數太少，所以就不開自助早餐了。也罷，吃吃斯裏蘭卡傳統的早餐也蠻有意思的。圖1是我倆吃定食早餐（給的分量超大），圖2、3是自助早餐。

We stayed one night at the Lake Forest Hotel. We were checked in promptly on arrival and we told that we received an upgrade to the room we had booked. We booked the Family Suite and we stayed in a Family Suite Room!! No upgrade but we were still very happy with the room. With 2 x Queen Beds and large bathroom and balconies the Family Suite was more than adequate for our one night stay. Beds were really comfortable and the views over Tissa Lake toward the temples were amazing. Only downvote for the hotel was the food. Not that it wasnt ok. It was nice, but food temperatures were a little low which made eating feel a little like the food had been sitting for a while. Hoppers were great as usual. We ate Sri Lankan choices at the buffet but there was a selection of Western food as well. A nice, comfortable hotel in a great location.

Costoso, sicuramente ampiamente al di sopra degli standard. Ma un’esperienza da vivere e rivivere. Uga Ullagalla è una splendida tenuta coloniale che sorge, a circa 30 minuti da Anuradhapura, in una meravigliosa distesa di campi di riso e foreste ed ai cui confini si apre un affascinante bacino idrico. Le camere sono ville enormi, tutte dotate di piscina privata e idromassaggio, arredate in uno stile rustico di alta classe. Una enorme e meravigliosa piscina sorge davanti alla struttura principale, la grande casa coloniale dove sorge anche il ristorante. La struttura dispone di Spa e di una piccola palestra (quest’ultima in un contesto così vasto sembra decisamente sottodimensionata). Oltre al ristorante principale dove è servita una ottima colazione a la carte ed una cucina internazionale viene proposto un menu guidato di prodotti della terra cucinati secondo ricette locali in una piccola area attrezzata molto rustica letteralmente in mezzo alle risaie. Nella vasta tenuta ci si muove generalmente con un buggy che in qualsiasi momento del giorno e della notte ti conduce nella tua camera semmai ubicata nel fitto della foresta o affacciata sulle risaie. Il servizio è accuratissimo, l’accoglienza eccezionale condita anche con un simpatico ritualismo. Vengono organizzate numerose escursioni sia nei dintorni della tenuta che in tutte le principali località turistiche a prezzi comunque notevolmente sopra ogni standard locale, mentre sono utilizzabili gratuitamente biciclette per scorazzare nella vasta tenuta. In definitiva Uga Ulagalla, malgrado il costo molto elevato, è una esperienza irripetibile, un piacere assoluto in una terra meravigliosa come lo Sri Lanka.
