My husband and I were just passing through the area, and needed somewhere to stay the night after a long drive south from Holland. The Schlosswirt is just off the motorway, with convenient parking. Our double room was an absolute picture, combining antique furniture with modern technology and other fittings designed to provide comfort. Another highlight was our evening meal (including a memorable Tafelspitz and great Austrian wines). Charming breakfast too. Very friendly staff throughout the establishment, and the whole bill good value for money. Convenient situation for a walk in the village and the surrounding countryside (we saw traces of beavers, plus Karajan's grave!). Sadly we had to move on after one night, but we would love to come and stay again. Thank you, Schlosswirt and Schlosswirtin!

A lovely quiet location opposite the zoo and Hellbrunn Palace, and a bus ride direct to Salzburg or a short ride the opposite direction for the cable car. A lovely hotel with a fab view over the mountains from the back. Only downside for maybe a solo traveller is that there is no reception but on hand via whattsapp. Restaurant is not attached but def worth a visit as the food was wonderful. Not too far from other hotels and we found a couple of nice restaurant/bars.

Our family of four stayed here for 4 days when visiting my older son who is on an Erasmus Study term. We were absolutely delighted with this hotel. It far exceeded our expectations, it was very modern, incredibly spacious and very clean and tidy. It is also very good value for money. We had an apar**ent which would easily accommodate 6-8 people. We didn't have breakfast but we did have free coffee and flavoured waters. We arrived late and left very early and check in and out couldn't have been easier. There is a bus stop within a few mins walk and you have the option of 2 different bus routes to get you into the city centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel :)
