Romantic Piha

We booked on a different website which said 900m to the beach, which is true if you can fly… however it’s a 2.2k a 5 min winding drive to the beach. The location is spectacular with beautiful views of sea and bush. The decks are very high and the driveway very steep, it’s advertised as a family unit but I would not bring small kids here as it’s not fenced and has long drops off the decks. There are no footpaths along the main road so you really need to drive somewhere safer if you want to walk. The house is nicely furnished, well equipped kitchen with smeg appliances. There is no notifications that the house has cameras which it has, that would have been appreciated. The wifi worked well on days 1-2 which was good because we were working remotely but it faded out the last few days unable to even watch you tube so that was disappointing. The bed was uncomfortable, the first night we froze until we found extra blankets. After that we were warm but it’s still an uncomfortable bed. There is another rental house on the same site so I’m glad that it wasn’t being used or we would have had no privacy. Beautiful views, lovely house but we won’t return.
