Quality Suites Altavista – Lynchburg South

Seriously... This place is better than 99% of the Quality Inns/Quality Suites which I've stayed at. The check-in-check-out, clean/comfortable room, good breakfast, everything was first rate! Indeed, there was only one hint that this relatively new-looking and well-maintained hotel was once a Comfort Inn. And, I'm not going to say what it was or where I saw it. I'd stay here again.

The Quality Inn was subpar and had many deficiencies including the smelly carpet in the hallway. The room had a lamp that disconnected with a blown lightbulb. The in room phone was disconnected and when we checked in they never informed us that housekeeping was only every three days unless requested ahead of time. Poor Quality inn for sure

The ambiance of this hotel is remarkable. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing! The breakfast was delicious especially the sausage gravy and biscuits. The common areas were beautiful and well furnished. I will definitely be back to experience the coming home type feel I enjoyed with your entire staff. It felt like a scene in "Lackawanna Blues". They all made me feel special - like one of the family who came back home for the holidays. I would like to give a special THANK YOU TO my beautiful and sweet housekeeper, who was like a Big Mamma to me, Ms. Christine. She was so attentive and kept my room spotless and filled with towels. Also, to the entire staff if I miss anyone... All # Brandon's LOL, Sherry, Tamala, Ashley, Tajah, and Leslie.. Love you all and can't wait to return soon:) Blessings.

The staff members were friendly and I felt very welcomed. Greeted by Brandon at check in was easy. I spoke with the manager Sherrie she was knowledgeable and kind, anything my kids or I needed she was on top of it even when she was dealing with other guests. Our housekeeper Tamela was so helpful as well and we got towels and bedding for the pull out couch right away. Everyone I interacted with for our stay were so kind and greeted my family so warmly. Thank you all. Hope you get a raise for being so good to my family and for the hospitality that you showed off the charts.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel for about 4 months. We have had no negligence in paying our hotel bill. The operations manager Lisa had one guest who ran out on their bill without paying. Now she is harassing my husband and I about money and raising our rate on the room without giving a proper notice to prepare for the rate change. She does not interact with the guests when she is working at the Altavista Location. I have tried to speak to her several times when she has been at the desk, and she walks away as if a guest is not there. She does not represent what the staff stand for at this hotel!!!! My husband and I no longer want to do business here!!!! It has nothing to do with the staff because they are still very understanding of the situation at hand. Lisa (Operation Manager) still remains on pressuring us and we have given no reason to be treated this way!!!!! WE ARE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

This hotel is like a motel. It’s old dated stinky dirty light in bathroom didn’t work tv didn’t work we had to move to a different room. What I can say is the front desk staff was very kind and compassionate because these issues are beyond their control. I blame the owner! The general manager , I can’t recall her name but she was exceptional kind and truly a gem. She understood and tried her best to make it right with in her limits. At the end, the rooms were a No charge after all the stuff we had gone through. So for that we are grateful.

If I could give -5 stars I would. I came into town to visit my parents for the weekend and decided to get a room (203 to be exact) and from the moment I walked into the hotel lobby I regretted my choice. The lobby was absolutely filthy and had trash everywhere and didn’t look like it had been cleaned in months with out dated furniture. The room was so much worse holes in the wall different color paint from patch jobs, mold in the mini fridge, the hairdryer practically electrocuted me, blood on the sheets and lamp shade and no hot water for two days ever after bringing it to the front desks attention after the first morning of not being able to shower ( and might I add the girl at the front desk looked high out of her mind and her I assume boyfriend was behind the counter hat pulled down looking down and looking high also) and they said they would fix it. Returning to the room at 10:30pm that evening the bed had been stripped of all the linens and not remade towels taken but no new towels and still no hot water. The next morning upon checking out and not having showered at the hotel for two days but at my moms house. I went to the desk and requested a refund because I myself work in the industry and would give anyone that experienced this a complete refund, but they said they would only refund one night and not both. Not wanting to argue I said sure and knew I’d be calling corporate. I called corporate and because it’s a privately owned hotel with their name they can’t or won’t do anything I should say and the hotel is refusing to give anything more. I have called the Virginia department of health because this place was disgusting from top to bottom.
