The Plough

Avoid at all cost On check in i was offered breakfast and agreed a time. I came downstairs and found the building completely empty and couldn't find a single member of staff. I was also issued a key for the room without a fob for the entrance but as it turns out that wasn't needed as the night entrance door was broken and tied open. This isn't the first time ive stayed here but its definitely the last. I would strongly recommend you find another place to stay when in Alnwick.

My room had no Windows, only a very very small Velux, with no blind. It was very tatty, to say the least. I was told breakfast was available from 0800hrs. Couldn’t get access to the restaurant and met other residents looking to get in, but no sign of anyone there. Horrible little hovel!!!

After leaving the property at 8am I was locked out .No staff around. Difficulty getting into the internet.Like a Ben with evening meal which was fully booked . Poor staff supervision.

Room. It serviced twice, millions of cigarette butts and litter, dirty glasses around outside and inside, beer cans…..

Visited today for a last minute Sunday lunch. Booked online & was not disappointed! 3 of us had the Beef Roast & 1 had the chicken. Good value with generous portions & quality ingredients! Yorkshire puddings were particularly tasty! Staff were really welcoming & friendly. Highly recommended, we hope to visit again soon!

Stayed here for a week while I saw family, and it is honestly the most lovely of places to stay. Staff were welcoming upon arrival, showed me around and protocol on how to access the hotel area of the pub once the pub was closed. Each room has its own unique name which is pretty cute, and the rooms looked amazing with such a wide space. Had an en-suite and very comfy bed, could feel no springs. Daily cleaner if you’re wanting new towels or a clean which is nice. The pub was very clean, and bar served a good range of drinks. There’s some local that came in while I was dining, which was nice to see. Also was an open mic night? That was pretty amazing, saw some great singing. Food was amazing too, the cheese and bacon burger was a great hit with me. Overall a great place to stay and 10/10 will be going back again in the future.
