Parador de Mójacar

We’ve just spent a couple of weeks here and all I can say is that the hotel is underwhelming. The breakfast is good, but the staff generally make it difficult to get served by keeping their heads down and stay focused on setting up tables for lunch before serving guests having breakfast. The rooms are clean, albeit basic and the beds comfortable. The let down here is the thin walls which have little to no noise insulation and as a result, you will not get a decent night’s sleep, nor a siesta. The tiled floors in every room don’t help nor do the maids who have to be the noisiest ever! The hotel was only able to serve drinks via the restaurant as the downstairs poolside bar and eatery was closed for the winter. On sunny days getting a drink was another mission in itself! The pool was open, but very cold. No big deal, but a cover might have kept it warm a little longer as it would have been nice. The restaurants was nice for breakfast and ok for lunch, but SO bright and sterile for dinner. We ate there once and never again. Not to worry as there are some fantastic places nearby to eat out. The location is great though and that’s why we stayed rather than check out early. Believe me we considered it every day of our stay…

We had a junior suite number 620 which was very comfortable and roomy. No doubt there are times of the year when having a shaded balcony is a bonus. In winter we would have preferred a room with a sunny balcony. If you like then sun avoid this room. We enjoyed our stay and the hotel was very quiet. There was some noise from above and the adjacent room, might be a problem when the hotel is full.

Been going to Mojacar Paradore for many years. The staff never change from Isabelle on reception to the restaurant staff to the cleaners the establishment for my family is superb. There are no games around the pool. Just quiet tranquil days in the sunshine No one banging and slamming doors or fighting at stupid o’clock in the early hour, just quiet refinement. The whole establishment is run by a lady, it is run so well. The grass is cut, but I never see it cut. The whole place is painted but I never see painters Gardeners and maintenance staff move about so quietly. This is not Benidorm but a time gone bye hotel. I find it great with this lady after many years leading her team It’s 50mts from the beach
